this is also interesting...: "Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria and Country Music Hall of Famer Kris Kristofferson have spots up front, as does Sara Evans, who will sit next to Lee Ann Womack. Unlike at the Grammy Awards, non-performing songwriters get some of the best seats at the CMAs, so Craig Wiseman and Monty Powell won't have to crane their necks." http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...0313/0/SPORTS07 ================== If I was Sara, I would not want to go to this. Anyway, it's cool that Lee Ann is sitting in the front! |

...The Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts program has been established to help raise awareness and provide education about the risk of heart disease in women. Starting in January 2007, Cheerios will donate $1 to WomenHeart (up to $500,000, $200,000 guaranteed) for every code entered by consumers at http://www.cheerioshelpinghearts.com by January 30, 2008. Consumers can find Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts codes inside specially marked Cheerios boxes. In addition, Cheerios is honored to have multi-Grammy winner and country singer Lee Ann Womack and leading actress Phylicia Rashad, two dedicated celebrities, participating in the Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts program on behalf of The Heart Truth to raise awareness about this important issue. “Heart disease among women is a serious health issue that plagues our nation,” said Lee Ann Womack, country singer and spokeswoman for Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts program. “I am so honored to be part of a program that will truly make a difference by providing crucial health information to women and raise money for heart disease research, education and treatment.” http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/g...034&newsLang=en And here is Lee Ann's page: ![]() Juggling a career and family isn't easy. I know. With two girls and a new album on my mind, it's easy to let my own health slip to the bottom of my list of priorities. But when I learned that heart disease is the number-one cause of death among women in America, I made a commitment to better heart health. Not just for my sake, but for the sake of my family, too. Changing the way you live your life isn't always the easiest thing. But when I thought of my two girls, I knew it was the right thing. You can do it, too. Eat right, have regular checkups and get active. Just a few minutes of activity here and there can make a difference. Your family will be glad you did. http://www.cheerioshelpinghearts.com/promo...eAnnWomack.aspx |

I found this today, but don't know how old it is. Lee Ann is the "Featured Artist" at the moment on "Texas Music". Here's her page: Lee Ann Womack On Texas ![]() When it comes to singing songs about being wronged, no one gets it more right than Lee Ann Womack. With hits like "I Hope You Dance" (2000) and "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" (2005), this Jacksonville native always manages to combine vulnerability and strength in a single note. Her latest, "Finding My Way Back Home," is in stores now. Most remote Texas gig you ever played? I would have to say the Waller County Fair in Hempstead, Texas. What's your definition of Texas music? In my opinion Texas music can be defined as George Strait mixed with Willie Nelson mixed with Delbert McClinton mixed with George Jones. Best place to see Texas music? My living room (jamming with Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, George Strait, etc.) If you can't get a ticket there, Austin City Limits Festival is a great event to catch some of the best music around today - in any genre. Favorite Texas album? Currently: Willie Nelson's Tribute to Cindy Walker record Place you'd take someone who's never been to Texas. My house on Drip Rock Creek....if they're looking for peace Where in Texas feels most unlike Texas? Middle of the Galleria in Houston (I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just doesn't feel like Texas). Best four-day Texas vacation? I would start with taking in a day or two of the Austin City Music Festival, spend an afternoon floating down the Guadalupe, then take a quick road trip up to Fort Worth on Sunday and catch a Dallas Cowboys game, then finish off the trip by having dinner at the Lonesome Dove Restaurant.

This is interesting. I seemed to have missed this from last year, but I'll post it anyway
:This morning I talked on the phone with Womack about her show on Dec. 1 at Gruene Hall with Cody Canada of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue and Wade Bowen for an upcoming Weekender column. We also chatted about the Texas connection. "Most notably was George Strait getting in the hall of fame," Womack said. "That was my big Texas moment." Backstage, she visited with (Bruce) Robison, who wrote "Blame It on Me," which Womack recorded on her album "Something Worth Leaving Behind." "After the show, I hung out with Cody and Stoney at the Universal party. We're all under the same label group," she said. "I'm really looking forward to the show with them at Gruene Hall." Womack had not yet seen video clip of Hill's "What?" But she wondered whether Hill actually was upset. "There's no telling what goes on," Womack said. "It's a shame because the artist is only on the camera for a few seconds and we never ever know the whole story. "I hate that for her because she's a good person and probably is getting an unfair shake because she's really not that kind of person." As for what kind of person Womack is, fans will be able to tell up close and personal — instead of on a big stage — at the Gruene Hall show. And she promises it will all be about the music. http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/outd...i.html#comments |

This is interesting lol: This Day in Music For February 27, 2007 - 1998 - Country singer Jason Sellers gets some help entertaining a lunchtime crowd at the 29th Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. His former wife, Lee Ann Womack, makes a special appearance as Sellers` duet partner. 'Man, you look good,' Sellers says. 'I want you back.' Womack has no patience for her ex`s plea. 'Well,' she says, 'maybe if you'da said that a little earlier...' ![]() http://music.monstersandcritics.com/news/a...ebruary_27_2007 |

"The April 14 Dream Gala at the Hilton Anatole will be quite the all-star affair. The benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will feature country chanteuse Lee Ann Womack. Roger Staubach and his wife, Marianne, are celebrity chairs, and actress Angie Harmon (Law & Order) is co-chairing the live auction with her Dallas pals Kathleen Hutchinson and Holly Bock . In an article about Vince Gill and his These Days album: Lee Ann Womack, who recorded the wistful "If I Can Make Mississippi" with Gill for the Country CD, Some Things Never Get Old (The Country and Western Record), echoes Bramlett's sentiments. "Vince is one of the best singers and all-around artists we've ever had in Country," Womack said. "I live to work with people like him. He makes us look good." http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/...articleID=22090

This is cool, it's from a review of a recent George Jones concert: "You know that you've purchased tickets to the right concert when there are as many A-list recording artists watching in awe from the wings as there are fans in the audience. Maybe that wasn't exactly the case for George Jones' Sunday night show at a packed Ryman Auditorium, but it sure seemed like it. While the Possum certainly didn't need any help, he introduced surprise guest performances by Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack and Tanya Tucker and the backstage area was visibly overflowing with other dignitaries. ... Jones covered songs by Haggard and Tom T. Hall before introducing one of his favorite singers, Lee Ann Womack, to join him on "Golden Ring." Womack had a little trouble synchronizing with Jones on the chorus, but the Possum is not easy to sing with these days. Years of heart-felt performances of familiar songs have altered the pace and interpretation of some until they bear little resemblance to the original recordings. ...." There's much more to the review, but I only posted the parts about Lee Ann. http://www.the9513.com/concert-review-geor...s-at-the-ryman/ |

Thanks to wabash for finding this: Q: When is Lee Ann Womack's new CD being released? Her single "Finding My Way Back Home" came out some time ago. Why is there a delay for the album? (Matthew, Tallahassee, FL) A: Matthew, the good news is that the album release date has been delayed because Lee Ann found some more great songs to record and went back into the studio to do so. Bad news is, they haven’t announced a release date for the album, but it could be out later this year. http://www.gactv.com/gac/nw_question_of_th...489210_,00.html |

Lee Ann is on the very recently released DVD, Sesame Street: Kids' Favorite Country Songs: What it is: Elmo gets to croon with the likes of Lee Ann Womack on "Skip to My Lou" and "Farmer in the Dell." Garth Brooks sings, too, but definitely not his hit "Much Too Young (to Feel This Damn Old)." Playtime: Any DVD that somehow teams the Muppets, Johnny Cash and Alison Krauss has a cool factor that surpasses the most surreal honky tonk you can imagine. Time out: Any DVD that lets Elmo sing country in that squeaky voice could inspire nails-on-a-chalkboard blues. http://www.amazon.com/Sesame-Street-Favori...s/dp/B000NY0YM2 |

Check this "gossip" out too: So word has it in the country music biz that Trisha Yearwood, otherwise known as Mrs. Garth Brooks, has left her longtime label, MCA Nashville, and signed with strong upstart Big Machine Records. Big Machine has teen country starlet Taylor Swift and Texas country-rocker Jack Ingram. Lee Ann Womack may be headed to Big Machine, too. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...n1.43b975a.html |
