![]() Warning: If you're expecting the usual Kita K. dance/hardcore fare, you're not gonna get it with this ;O This 3-track EP was composed with nothing more than MIDI instruments (with some fitting delay/reverb effects and EQ). I basically wanted to see how good of a sound I could get out of just MIDI. I think I succeeded, particularly with tracks 2 and 3. Party like it's 1996 on the internet! This EP was also created from scratch within 12 hours. Track 1: Flocking --- The titular track. Has a sentimental first half and a pretty avant-garde second half. At over 8 minutes long, this track incorporates many different genre elements. Track 2: Old Folks at Home (Leaving on the River) --- Everyone has heard this song somewhere. I think that the MIDI instruments worked particularly well here; this is probably my favorite arrangement on the EP. Track 3: Familiar --- Takes the mood of Track 2 and throws it out the window with a heavy metal/RPG boss hybrid with a driving melody and plenty of MIDI instrument guitar shredding. Reminds me of Terranigma on the SNES. I'm probably going to remake this in my usual style. http://kita-k.bandcamp.com/album/flocking Edited by Kita K., Nov 7 2009, 11:44 PM.
