Hello and how is everyone? I am fine, and I hope that everyone else is too.
I wanted to check in and to just say hello, and to also let everyone know that I bought a new computer. I didn't get the new 3d computer yet, because I don't have enough money saved up yet. I will have, because I have a lot of time to save. I bought a cheap 300 dollar computer, just for now. It cost a little more than 300 dollars, but it is still nice. It is a cheap Gateway computer that I bought today at Wal-Mart. I might have to learn windows 8, but the 3d computer that I am saving for will have 2 hard drives, and a dual boot system. I will have whatever OS(s) that I want. I just got tired of going to the library, when they have a time limit, and there is often not enough time. With this laptop, I can go wherever I want and always have enough time. B) So, now I can start posting here. B)

I went to our local library once and used their computers. Part of the reason was to get away from the distractions of home. So I got the thing all booted up using the right passwords, library card etc. and my cell phone rings. It was my wife. So then I had to explain why I was taking so long for my "walk". Pretty much ended that experiment as I had to talk so loud that other patrons of the library started to complain.

One good thing about Facebook is that it does have the potential of involving families and friends. My wife does not like the idea that I spend time on my Facebook account. Yet, she some times uses that account to post messages to other friends that are also Facebook users.

:whistle2: :giggle:

I am also expecting to get a new computer sometime soon. It doesn't have to be 3D (whatever that means) but my current computer is getting soooo slooooww onnnnn thee innnternett. Drives me bonkers.

At any rate, congratulations Z@n3 on getting your new computer. May it open up new horizons for you.

Z@ne, sometimes all you need is something pretty basic to get you through.

Caltrek, Mrs. Caltrek may not be wild about Facebook, but Mrs. Swidden is the one that signed me up! I even put on my page that I didn't join Facebook-- I was drafted! After 3 years (+/-) I have a whopping two dozen "friends"! Unlike some I tend to be discreet about who I friend. For example, about two weeks ago a real world friend's ex-wife sent me a friend request (This is a person that I have met face to face may 3 times in 15 years!). It's not bad, but honestly folks that check out my page can probably hear the virtual crickets chirping. ;) :D

This computer is actually a lot faster than I thought it would be. Not bad at all for a cheap computer with only 4GB of ram. Windows 8 isn't what I thought it would be; I had Windows 7 prior to this and I thought that all the software that I had working with Windows 7 would work with Windows 8, but I am wrong. Still, basically only a few of the titles that I care about don't work, and I am hoping to be able to install Windows 7 on the 2nd hard drive. The new computer that I will get will likely have Windows 8 64 bit too, and I am hoping to be able to run Windows 7 32 bit on the 2nd drive so that my older software will work. Does anyone know if I will be able to do that? It might be able to be done in an emulator, but I think that things will run much smoother if I have a clean full install on the 2nd drive. That way, I should be able to choose which OS to boot with when I turn the computer on. Right? :)
