^^

For me, TV shows on DVD have their pros and cons. Pros are many of the reasons you mention. The main Con for me is the excitement level is not the same watching a whole bunch of episodes of one show at a time.

I just started to collect my first show on DVD (), and as much as I love it, I can't watch more than a few episodes per week. I have to "crave" (for lack of a better word) the show.

If I watch too many episodes at one time, I find myself going through the motions. My mind starts to wonder. So I try to pace watching it.

I have never watched more than two episodes in one sitting. That keeps it exciting and fresh for me.

TribbleMom is supposed to be back today. Maybe she took pictures of the hot springs for us. :wow:

Good points by all regarding t.v. shows. There is definitely a virtue in being patient (and waiting for shows each week). There is a level of excitement there; it's how I watched all of t.v. growing up. That being said, it was much better at that time than it is now, what with all of the crap that is on the screen in almost every corner (logos, this and that, etc.). And I abhor commercials these days. But thankfully, both camps have a choice in the matter.

Sorry to say that I won't be around much for the next week or so. I'm increasingly busy at work(during my last two weeks no less.. ) and I've been sick all week. I don't have the energy to post a whole lot.

I'll see you around when things get less hectic for me.

I hate commercials too. Not because of the content, but because they take so much time up from viewing the show. That is one major Pro about having the DVD at your disposal.

I even tape most things just so I can zoom through the commercials.

My Con list is very short and mainly consists of the excitement level potentially being diminished by having so many episodes at my finger tips. I have to be careful about not watching too many at one time.

You and me both. With as much television as I view, and with all of the other non-activity that I have in my life, it is imperative that I exercise (run/walk) four or five times a week. When that is done, I feel as though I can justify the amount of other things I do.

Mel,

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. You've been sick off and on for a while now.
Take the time to de-stress. I've got TribbleMom's picture on my desktop. It helps when I'm at work.

Speaking of TribbleMom, save me some doughnuts in case I'm not here when she gets back.

Wildfire doesn't appear to be cancelled after all. They have been saying "season finale" this past week.

They better be glad, because I was serious about putting a voodoo hex on ABC Family. ;)

Please don't. I think 7th Heaven is still being shown in repeats on that channel. :)
