Isabel,

I couldn't agree more. That is the primary reason I posted on TrekBBS for about two weeks. Everything I wrote (and responses I was waiting for) got lost in that jungle....

I just checked their site and they are at 25 main forums right now. The site that will remain nameless has almost as many (23).

When I first posted again after being away for a couple of months at the latter site, I felt somewhat disoriented because I was used to my 13.

No, I have not. But my colleague was listening to some of those the other day at the reference desk. So you don't think I need to run out and buy some blank tapes to tape these segments? :wave2:

^^ Listening to Google ads? That's odd. Did your colleague happen to come across "candy cane chick"?

No need to go pick up tapes. ;)

Mel,

How's your throat?

I am watching Men in Trees and amazingly there a few guest actors on tonight's episode with direct and indirect Trek connections. Colm Meaney (TNG/DS9), Nicholas Lea (the guy who played Alex Krycek on X-Files, guest star on Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, and Vertical Limit...that also had Alexander Siddig from DS9 in it) and Annie Potts. She once did a movie with Whoopi Goldberg (Jumpin’ Jack Flash) who was Guinan. Stephen Collins from TMP had a bit part in that movie too. :wow:

Wow, those are neat connections. I recall a thread on another Board (this was quite a while ago) where these types of connections were made from one show to another. A poster named a character, and others had to make the connections. Does this sound familiar?

No, I've not heard of "Candy Cane Chick." :chin:

It was 7 steps to a Trek character or something like that.

It was another take on a game where you could always trace back to Kevin Bacon. He's been in so many movies and acted with so many people, that in theory you could trace anyone back to Kevin Bacon.

I never played it because I found it too difficult to trace back that many steps.

The Candy Cane Chick was the woman in the match.com Google ad that we all were discussing on this thread a while back. She basically moved around a lot and ate a candy cane. She also gave the appearance of mimicking IE's movements when he was looking at the screen. The coincidence freaked him out a bit.

I never played it either. It was to me quite confusing.

Okay, I recall that candy cane thing now. I was lost, to tell you the truth!

Good morning!

I'm reminded of the scene in "Remember the Titans" where Denzel Washington greets his rather reluctant team......

Am I the only one who still says: "M I crooked letter crooked letter I, crooked letter crooked letter I, humpback humpback I" when typing out the word Mississippi? :rotfl:

Maybe. I spell the word out very fast when I type it, like this: Miss iss ippi! That's also the way I memorized it back in elementary school. And it actually came up in a spelling contest we once had!

If you say that like I do, there's a rhythm to it and an emphasis on each letter I.

That's how I say it! lol

I had a trick for remembering how to spell Saskatchewan too, by dividing it it chunks of three letters.
