Bean-O!

Well yesterday morning I went to Denny's. Had their special for $5.99.
French toast, bacon, home fries, sausage and a side order of pancakes.
And oh, a glass of iced tea. I was so hungry.

I've got this craving for hash browns now. Slightly burned and crispy. Just the way I like my bacon.

I'll see ya later guys. I HAVE to eat.

Hello everyone.

Bean-O!

They make a product called Beano. Its supposed to cut down on any gas you may experience from foods high in fiber (or other gas causing foods).

I tried it once a long time ago before I ate a bowl of Chile beans, and the Beano was horrible on my stomach. The Chile beans never caused that much trouble.

I have been eating a lot more fiber (esp. in our bread) lately. I can actually taste the difference in texture when it is high in fiber.

Seeing the references in this thread to McDonald's ... Did anyone else happen to see a documentary-type movie called "Super Size Me"?

There was a fellow who decided to try an experiment to see the effects of McDonald's fast food on a person's physiology. He decided to eat nothing but McDonald's food for 30 days and see what it would do to him, and if the servers asked him if he wanted the Super Size order, he would get that. For those 30 days, he would eat McDonald's 3 times a day and nothing else. If it wasn't on the McDonald's menu, he wouldn't eat it. He also chose to try to limit his physical activity and exercise to what is supposedly the American norm for the majority of people.

He had been eating a manily vegan diet prior to this & was in excellent physical condition. He had a complete medical workup done at the start and had constant medical monitoring during this experiment.

He gained a ridiculous amount of weight in just 3 weeks and his doctors were begging him to stop the experiment. His liver was about shot, his arteries were clogging up, etc. Apparently it took him almost a year of his previous diet and exercise to get back to his previous fitness level.

That's enough to make me avoid McDonald's altogether.

Well since my diet is about 95% vegan, just reading about that makes me cringe. I haven't seen the movie, but I would like to. Many meat-eaters will argue that it's not a realistic diet, and that no one really eats like that. That may be true, but people who eat it 3 times a week are in just as much risk, only it takes much longer. The effects on his body may have been a lot quicker and more noticeable , but that is because he ate the stuff 3 times a day.

Moderation is key, as with everything. I, on the other hand, avoid it completely.

I heard that guy who did the McDonald's experiment is one pretty messed up guy now. His liver is supposedly shot. What a shame. It only takes 30 days of fast food 24/7 to ruin your body permanently.

I can tell when I'm overdoing it on the fast food and caffeine, my body is sluggish and I'm not all myself. Funny thing is, my body craves more of it the more tired I get.

That's when I have to pull out the stops and fast and detoxify my body with a lot of green tea, rice and vegetables and lots of exercise.

It takes a while but I feel better after I do.

This sounds wise. I wouldn't have thought of green tea. Does coffee contain anything toxic (or does it lead to things in one's body that need detoxifying)?

I was listening to the radio the other day and there was a commercial on advertising Restylane and Botox as a great gift for Valentine’s Day.

I was thinking, oh yeah, there’s nothing more that says I love you than a gift proclaiming you have too many wrinkles. :rotfl:

I wonder (seriously) how many entertainers (also insert artists, musicians, writers, etc. here) do this to gain a level of notoriety? Sometimes I think gimmicks are displayed solely for reasons of $$, and to hell with the way it appears to others. :chin:

Hi everyone,

I'm just coming up for air.  Man it's been busy at work this week!

Even at home, we have relatives staying with us right now.  And this weekend we will be away at another relative's birthday party.

So it has been difficult to stop by here.

How is everyone?  I hope I haven't missed much.

Hello. :D

You missed quite a bit. Warner got into a bar fight. :jawdrop: Some guy said Zoey 101 was the worst kid’s program ever made. However, he was willing to turn the other cheek until the guy said Johannes Ockeghem was the worst composer to ever be born. Then it was on! Warner went ballistic! Chairs went flying, Warner knocked the guy in the head with a root beer bottle. Then Warner started whaling on him. It was utter madness. It took fifteen guys to get Warner off of him.

:rotfl:
