Yay! Someone wrote here. ^^ How's it going guys? The heat here is unbearable. :/
Sorry for your loss STF. :( If there's anything I can do to help, just say. ;)

Hi everyone :wave2:

I ran the 5k race yesterday and was happy with the result. I ran it in 24 minutes and 32 seconds which is about 1 minute and 40 seconds faster than what I ran last April. It also brought my pace under the 8 minute per mile mark (it works out to around 7 minutes and 50 seconds per mile). I still have a lot of work to do to get down to 7 minutes per mile, but at least I'm heading in the right direction. :) Now I'm setting my sights on a 5 mile race in October.
Hello ImpulseEngine! Congratulations on completing the 5k race you took part in and also improving your finish time! The way things are going you must have every chance of recording an even faster time when you race again in October. :thmbcool:

My budgie died yesterday, She was 8 years old. But she was heavily inbred and only supposed to live about 4 years.
Hello STF, i'm very sorry to hear about the death of your budgie. The loss of two much loved pets in a week is unbelievably sad, and i really hope that things start to improve for you now.

Thanks Goliath. :) I don't know about that faster time for the 5 mile, but we shall see. That race is almost 2 miles longer so I'll be happy just to finish without any walking regardless of the pace. Right now, I can finish 4 miles without walking, but it feels like I'm pushing it. But I have about 3 months to add the 1 more mile. Whether I will be able to add speed will depend on how quickly I can get to just being able to complete the 5 miles.

STF, sorry to hear that. :( Pets are family and it's not easy when they leave us.

My five year old recently announced his plan to build a time machine. His purpose? To venture into the past to study the extinct Megalodon shark. At least two of his friends from preschool have volunteered to join the expedition. One of those already has a fascination with finding the Loch Ness monster.

I should note, he is quite serious about this plan.

Dad has some grant proposal requests to start writing...

^^ Have your son write them in crayon. The powers that be might find it cute and actually give him the grant! LOL.

Doing well today. We had some wild storms yesterday which finally pushed the latest heatwave through. I can actually stand being outside again!

Swidden, I know of a certain politician that would love to invest in a time machine.

Ran the "Wharf to Wharf" race today. Finished it in 1:11:25. Much better than I hoped. Came in at a respectable place too, considering there were estimated 12,000-15,000 runners.
