What's the point of giving us viewers a free movie channel preview (e.g. Showtime), if you are going to show a bunch of crapola movies? Not really much of an incentive to purchase the movie channel package.

I agree with you on that, 24th! One would think that the movie channel that is doing the free view would put on somthing that would entice the viewers to want to get that channel. But they didn't ask my opinion ;)

What a last couple of days!! Western Trails Confrence wrestling on Thursday ( and it was supposed to have been about 60 degrees outside but we were stuck inside a gym all day ) with 8 or 9 teams and then yesterday ( Saturday ) we had another tournament with 18 teams.

We have a dual and parent's night coming up and another tournament next Saturday...... *phew!* More bleacher butt :P

*Edited to fix spellign error*

Sounds like there are a lot of competitions going on right now.

Regarding the bleacher butt problem, I've seen all kinds of deluxe seats for stadium type seating on the internet over the years. They keep going with that and you will eventually be able to take your own mini cocoon with you to the competitions. LOL.

Oh no, school starts in about 2 weeks. Yay. Here comes grade 11!

Caught a python last night, I put it in a cage so I could move it to a new location, but it got through the wire. It is 2 metres long!

I see several snakes a year. Usually just black or garden snakes. On rarer occasions, I will see a poisonous snake.

We've got rattlesnakes that have been in our yard. We try to keep the snake repellent close at hand and to keep the loaded, too ;)

And, 24th, we have a pair of stadium seats, but even those get uncomfy when we sit for so long. One good thing for me at least is that I can at least move around a bit and go sit by the mat to tape our teen. Although I'm ready to throw my camcorder against a brick wall!! :frust: Stupid thing wouldn't work when I put a new tape in at the first meet. Kept saying low battery and shutting off. Then I get it to stay on and found out at the last meet that even while the counter was moving it wasn't taping at all :pullhair: So 4 meets I have nothing of his matches :banghead: Hopefully I have it fixed and it'll work now. At least it had better work!! Only good thing is I did get pictures of his matches. At least the digital camera part of the camcorder works.......for now.

I guess I shouldn't be too upset with it, I got it back in 2005 and I've taped lots of wrestling meets, rodeos ( both high school and college ), track meets and cross country meets. As well as graduations, weddings, b.days and funerals. Glad it worked for Casey's funeral, though

Okie, mini rant is done :whew:

Technology is great when it is working and isn't so great when it isn't. :pullhair:
It sounds like it has had a good run though if it is on its last legs.

I love me some Dolly Parton and despite her more flamboyant look, I have always thought she was one of the most authentic (heart and mind) and talented people to ever to come down the pike.

I think she is going a touch too far on the facial plastic surgery now. Its almost hard to look at her now because of the face lifts, lip reconstruction (or whatever she has done), etc. She was always a pretty lady, I wish she would have just left that alone.

Absolutely!

Dish Network has been giving long time customers year long access to the Starz channels. Honest to God I have watched hardly anything on them. Most of the movies I wouldn't have watched in the theater or paid to rent even. Can't get worked up over Spartacus or Camelot (Merlin is more enjoyable). "Boss" (with Kelsey Grammer) hasn't hooked me either. I enjoyed "Torchwood: Miracle Day", but there were some unnecessary elements to it (more graphic sex, violence, language to let us know it was a premium channel).

Mostly gopher snakes and a garter snakes around here. Occasionally you come across a rattler, but they are rare this close to the coast.

I love Dolly Parton too, I think her music is fantastic. Some of her songs make me cry.

Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been gone so long. I've been pretty busy. I had a baby boy on the 30th Dec! My life has been totally turned around. It is weird and amazing all at the same time.

He is a good boy and is pretty chilled out. He mostly sleeps at the moment. Right now he is having a nap on his Daddy while I have a break.

Hope you are all well. What has everyone been up to?

I agree about Dolly. Sadly after a while the celebs have so much plastic surgery that they think they're beautiful, but the reality is that they are beginning to scare animals and small children, as well as some adults, too :rotfl:

A hearty congratulations to you and your hubby DCS!

If there is one word of advice I can give you based on your comment: When the baby is sleeping get what sleep you can too! And, speaking as a Dad, you can bet your husband is cherishing any chance he has to hold the little tyke. Some of my favorite times with our son when he was a newborn were when he took a nap on me.
