A friend of mine had a link to a Facebook image posted by George Takei. A two panel strip from the comic strip "Foxtrot". Little brother announces to big sister that he made a batch of gingerbread men in Star Trek uniforms. She wants to know why they are all wearing red shirts! :loling: :loling: :loling:

I'll post a link later...

There was a girl here that made a dress for a 4-H project out of duct tape. She got to go to State Fair with it.
Wow! LOL. People's creativity never ceases to amaze me.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Weather wise, it wasn't too bad here. Lit a candle in Casey's memory for this:

Compasionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting

We also celebrated my oldest sons B.day, my dads B.day and Casey's B.day last night. Casey had picked out the cake he wanted the week before he died.

We've got three December B.days fairly close so we have a B.day meal for all three.

I had never heard of the Compasionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting. Very nice tribute.

Hope the birthday party went well.

I did get the cake Casey wanted. It had Lightning McQueen and Mater on it. My oldest helped me with the pork tenderloin medalions and we had Au Gratin potatoes and corn. It wasn't a lot, but my dad ate pretty good. My oldest turned 24 last week. Dad turns 92 this week and Casey would have been 10 next Sunday.

We lit the candle at 7 P.M. and the birthday candles shortly after that. Had to have one of those re-light candles on the cake

Sounds like a good meal to me. A lot of people like those "Car" characters.

Neverending. Very nice.

I'm sure your son would have got a giggle from it to trying to blow it out. I'm sure he was there with you guys in spirit.

Casey loved the re-light candles and would always giggle :) So we had to have one for big brother to blow out. But he decided to wet his fingers and pinch out the wick......party pooper ;) Grandpa didn't even try to blow them out. He always left that to the boys, so DS#1 got to blow them out.

My wife and I bought ourselves and early Christmas present. For about 15 years, we have had an old 27-inch old style TV. We've been drooling over the new flat screen types for several years now so we decided to forgo most other presents this year and we finally bought one! :wow: It's a 40 inch Sony Google TV.

I've been playing with it for the past few days and it's great! You can watch TV, surf the internet, do both (via picture-in-picture), or download Android apps and run those. We were going to hold it until Christmas, but then decided we should make sure it works properly before there are none left to exchange it with. Then it seemed silly to take it back down once it was set up.

Young children shouldn't read this part!

That's awesome!

I went from an older TV to a flat screen this year too and it was a treat. Its amazing how light and flat the TVs are now.

Pretty wiped out. The last two weeks have been crazy: Anti-SOPA activism (calling, e-mailing, discussion groups, awareness drives), webinars on new and proposed copyright legislation, introductory HTML 5 and CSS 3 and looking into complaince certifications, getting lined up for a couple new ventures next year that'll mark a move from working for other people to working for myself-- again (fingers crossed), plus some independent projects apart for the "Big Ticket" ones. Two weeks of up @ 6am and to bed @3am. Better be worth it.
