We're getting started in wheat harvest. Hope the weather cooperates so Hubby and DS #1 stay happy
No kidding. What all kinds of vegetation/grains do you and your family grow?
I really should check this one more often
LOL. Better late than never. - Quote:

We grow winter wheat, dry beans, sugar beets and corn. Sometimes we have confectionary sunflowers or oil sunflowers.
I never really thought about there being different kinds of sunflowers. They are beautiful flowers. Are the confectionary sunflowers a higher quality for edible purposes? Yup! The confectionary ones are for eating. The flower heads are a bit bigger and the seeds are a bit bigger, too. My faves are the roasted kernals that are covered in chocolate and then coated in a candy shell, think peanut M&M's. They are YUMMY!! The oil ones are mostly for bird seed and the like and the heads are smaller as are the seeds.
And thanks Swidden! Yup, six CC are how many Cross Country meets he has this month. Then he has at least two in October. One regular meet and then Districts. We'll see how he does Friday 15 and tells me that I don't know anything....ri-i-i-i-i-i-ight LOL

Okie! Finally caught up on the 10 pages since I posted last School started for my kids a week ago today. I'm excited!! WOO-HOO! My teen isn't so happy, of course, but he's so far liking cross country practice, first meet is this coming Friday. The youngest is liking 3rd grade Six CC meets in September, two high school rodeos, school & fall sports pics and a few FFA things tossed in....I think Sept. is going to be a busy month I miss those days! I used to run cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track when I was in high school. Cross country was my favorite. Running around a track was somewhat boring - especially since I was a distance runner.
I started running again last January for the first time in about 16 years (and 16 years ago only lasted about 6 months - before that was another 9 years). I was specifically training for a race that took place in March. Since then I have been trying to stay disciplined and keep it up, but I failed pretty miserably on that account last month. I'm going to try to get going again this month before I lose all the work I had put in.

I see they snuck in a Zetaboard banner that adblock doesn't remove very easily. I managed to get rid of part of it, but I'm not sure I can get rid of the rest without inadvertently hiding some KOT items too.
Yeah, he was crafty in how he designed that. I too can only get rid of part of it (the images). However, it just looks stupid so I don't bother. At least it is minimalist and only appears sporadically. I don't mind so much since ZetaBoards use is free on the user end.
Yeah, the images were all I could get rid of too and it took some of the hyperlinks at the top away besides (like Active Topics). So I put it back as well. I agree, it's little to put up with considering it's free. I just wish it was sized to fit within the theme properly. (New Experience Dark, that is.)
Strange, the ads all fit well within that theme when I view it. If I shrink the browser window real small, then it will push past the theme margins. It will do that on all themes/boards because the banner is a set width that can't be changed. LOL, that was it. I don't usually have my window for Firefox maximized.

Mainly I think he has learned something that his big brother still needs to figure out. DS#2 ( Darling Son ) does wrestling, rodeo and track. So he's looking at cross country as a way to help keep him in shape for the next sport. A lot of the high school rodeo guys also are wrestlers and do track. So I think that kind of influenced him a bit. Now his big brother also wrestled in high school as well as rodeo, but he doesn't do a lot in the off season. Now DS#1 farms with his dad but still does a few rodeos now and then. Andhe complains that he just isn't in as good a shape as he thought Someday he might listen to mom and dad about that LOL

I was reading a magazine earlier that had an advert for a perfume. Justin Bieber who is only 17 years old has his own perfume called, "Someday by Justin Bieber".
"They" sure are turning him into an industry early on.

Oh boy. I will never understand why people seem to like him so much. He's just an average singer, but he has a machine behind him and his promotion. When they can no longer capitalize on the cutsey factor, he'll have to step it up or he will start to loose his fanbase as they get older too.

His time was 27 minutes and 16 seconds. Not too bad for his first time and a sore thigh muscle. He finished ahead of one of his teammates so he was pretty happy with that. His other teammates finished in the top 40 out of 85. There were some other boys behind DS#2 and he was happy that he wasn't last
