Well, one day isn't much of a difference. :P
I'm not going to go see it right away anyway. The crowds will be massive right now with school being out.
Went already, I was surprised, pleasantly, that the theater wasn't crowded at all. And the audience were well behaved, too. I felt good that I wasn't the oldest one there, but my son ( he's 23 ) was grumping a bit on how old he felt seeing lots of younger kids there. I told him that it would have been cool if his two friends could have watched the movie with him, since those three went to the first HP for my sons B.day back in '01 I thought it would have been fitting to have those three see the final HP together ;) Here is my review from my fb page, I tried to not have any spoilers for those who haven't read the book or seen the movie:

My oldest son and I went to the midnight showing at our local theater. It was good. Some bits were right with the book, but there were those 'extra bits' that really, in my opinion, don't give that much more to the movie. Oh, well. I will still watch it, tho, and get the DVD when it comes out. But I still miss the bits from the book that explain so much more.

I don't want to include spoilers just yet so I won't go into more detail. I will add that I was disappointed in the end right after the battle, the books part was better IMHO. But I kind of liked the Epilogue. Some bits from the book would have made that part much better, again IMHO.

Maybe I'm just too picky ::shrugs:: :munchies:

^^ Sounds cool. Although, I definitely wouldn't want to go to a showing that late. I agree that it would have been a good memory for your son to have if his friends had gone with you too. Its great that your son doesn't mind going to the movies with his mom though. :D

I have been adding threads for all of the Harry Potter movies in the "Fantasy" forum. I just added threads for the last two movies.

If anyone wants to post spoilers, reviews or general discussion about the latest movie, then please do so on this thread...

I can't wait to see the new HP movie, I've kind of become obsessed with it! I'm waiting a week or two untill the crowds have died down a bit, but one of my friends aren't allowed to see it?!?!

Anyway gotta go! Another couple of hours h/work to do!

He's a pretty good kid :) He took me to Tron: Legacy and he took his dad to True Grit. While Hubby and I were away for the weekend a while back, he took his younger brother to Green Lantern.

When I had to go to NJ last fall, he went with me and we went to HP: DH Pt. 1 at an Imax theater out there. Guess I'm lucky that my kids still want to do stuff like that with me ;)

My teen went with me to pick up my dad ( grandpa ) at DIA and we went to the Titanic Experience at the Denver Museum. He was 11 then and still talks about how cool it was! He's 15 now. :thmbcool:

Do we have a rant thread? Cause I have a rant.

Cobra insurance. Someone loses their job, and to add insult to injury, the company offers Cobra insurance which is double or triple what the person was paying before??? How in the hell can someone do that??? They will lose their house and car, but at least they'll have health insurance!

You know, I want to work for Cobra. They might write 1 to 2 policies a week nationwide! That would be the easiest job on the planet!!

We used to have a rant thread somewhere. I think it went unused for so long that I archived it. Feel free to start a new one.

I know what you mean about Cobra Insurance. Its ridiculously high. About $500 - $600 a month minimum for one person the last time I checked. That is the cost of monthly rent/mortgage payment in a lot of cases.

I think in many cases, the company will pay part of an employee's premium as a part of the employee's benefit package. The company probably gets a group rate. You no longer have the company chipping in when you become unemployed. So Cobra charges you the full cost.
