My day has been a lot better than the past four days. My husband has been on tilt about some things at work. I'll just put it this way...he's been really hard to live with. He was able to work out several issues and is A LOT easier to live with now..thank goodness!!!! |

Glad things have gotten straightened out a bit for your husband. Work matters have a lot of impact on family life....not always for the better. |

I don't find you annoying at all. Hope you stick around! Its hard not to take things personal on boards. Some people like to say its fake, its just the internet. Well, you spend your time interacting with people and you do invest emotionally in various aspects. So its hard not to get caught up in things sometimes. You just have to try and distance yourself from the drama aspects and focus more on the parts that bring you more enjoyment. |

I spent the last 2 days home with my daughter who had a bit of a fever. It was strange because that was the only symptom she had. No cold, upset stomach, sneezing, coughing or anything else. Normally, that might mean a sinus or ear infection, but her fever wasn't high enough for those. Then it just went away. Well, at least she's feeling better now. ![]() Then last night, we opened our freezer and found that everything had thawed out! I found someone who advertised he could come 24/7 so he was at our house at 11:00PM. We didn't want to wait because the refrigerator didn't seem as cold as it should be either and we had already lost so much freezer food. It turned out there is a coil that needs to be cleaned that makes the refrigerator/freezer work extra hard when it's dirty and it had eventually burned out a part. What annoys me is I knew about that coil and had looked for it a few years ago when the unit was making a strange noise. But they used to put it on the back. Now it's located on the bottom and you have to remove a front panel to get to it. I didn't know it was there and it isn't mentioned anyplace in the manual so I had just assumed refrigerators had changed over the years. Anyway, it's fixed now and I'll be cleaning it from now on.

Glad your daughter is doing better now. That's pretty convenient that you were able to get the guy to come out that late. Too bad you couldn't have had a BBQ with the food from your freezer. That's pretty much what we have had to do over the years when a loss of power caused the freezer food to thaw. You just hope when that happens that you didn't go grocery shopping and stocked up recently. Much can still go to waste. |

ImpulseEngine, I'm sorry that you lost all of the food that was in your freezer. Thanks for mentioning that the coil needs to be cleaned out ever so often. I plan on locating ours and clean it as soon as possible. I'm glad to hear that your daughter feels better now. |

StarTrekFanatic1701, you seem nice to me. I've read your posts here and at STL...& you come across as being a nice, respectful person. If there are certain people that you have been having problems with...perhaps whatever is going on can be cleared up with PM's with these people. |

Thanks about my daughter. Fortunately, we didn't have a lot of meats in the freezer just by coincidence. We may have been able to save some things, but we decided just to play it safe and throw it all out. If we could have been sure that the food was only impacted the one day, we might have tried saving some, but the freezer may have been underpowered even before it reached the point of everything thawing out. In fact, we had noticed the ice cream sometimes being soft and other times being hard as a rock with no changes in the freezer settings for the past couple of months and were wondering if something was starting to go wrong with it. |

Thanks Dewleaf. Good luck with cleaning your coil. The guy cleaned mine first with a brush to get off the obvious piled on dirt (13 years worth!). Then he sprayed it with warm water (using a pump sprayer) to losen anything that was more stuck. That makes a dirty mess on the floor though so you'll want to have some old towels handy to wipe up with if you do that. I'm told the coil should be cleaned every couple of years, but I plan to check mine at least annually from now on. |
