^^Sounds like you have got quite a decision to make there!!

I wasn't alowed to do Ancient History because it clashed with Chemistry!! GRRRR!!!!!!! Anyway I chose Modern history in stead....not to many other choices!

Last night was weird. We had a big rain storm. After it stopped, I took my dog out for a walk hoping it wouldn't start again. It didn't, but there was heat lightning flashing with literally never even as much as 5 seconds between flashes for the whole 15 or so minutes we were out. I'm not kidding, "never" is not an exaggeration. There was a constant low rumble in the distance which would have been thunder bursts ordinarily, but there was no break in the rumble because the break between flashes was only about 2 or 3 seconds. It was kind of eerie like something out of a science fiction movie. Close Encounters of the Third Kind came to mind.
I think I would have been heading back to the house quick! :scared:

I've been outside when lighting was popping all around. Its very unnerving. I bet your dog was about to have a fit.

But the real reason is.......... I just don't enjoy playing anymore. I enjoy running so much more.
^^ I would base your decision off this. If you don't enjoy playing basketball, then you shouldn't. Those around you would probably be more disappointed in you if you didn't stay true to yourself and did something that made you unhappy.

You would also be doing your teammates (both track and basketball) a favor by focusing on what you enjoy.

If you decide you want to play basketball in the future, then you can start practicing again and tryout in the future.

Just my opinion. ;)

That pretty well sums up what I was going to say so I'll just say "I agree". :)

My dog was surprisingly calm about it although she did look up at the lightning now and then. But we usually walk out of our neighborhood to a point, turn around, cross back over the entrance to our neighborhood, keep going, turn around again, and then return home. When we got to the point of crossing back over the entrance to our neighborhood, she definitely pulled to return home instead of continuing. Most nights she pulls to continue because occasionally I have cut it short and returned home at the point for other reasons.

Now my feet are starting to hurt. And that is after 26 hours of standing, I can't imagine how my feet would feel if I had made it all 56 hours!
Why on earth were you standing for 26 hours? :jawdrop:

I was trying to win a hot tub and I made it to about 26 hours ;) Last years winner stood for about 77 hours, but this years winner only had to make it to about 56 hours
Wow, that's a lot of standing even if you didn't win! I find standing in one place for a long time to be more tiring than just about anything else. Were you allowed to walk around at all or did you literally have to stand in one place?
We did get some breaks. When it started it was hands on for an hour and 50 minutes with a 10 minute breaks and we got 25 minute breaks for our meals, they did feed us. :) Then after the 24 hour mark it went to hands on for 2 hours and 50 minutes with 5 minute breaks and 15 minute meal breaks. After the 48 hour mark it went to hands on for 3 hours and 50 minutes with 5 minute breaks and the meal breaks stayed at 15 minutes, I think. I didn't make it that far LOL

They had a tent canopy over us, but we were pretty much outside. The last four did have to move inside for a little bit while a lightning storm blew through.

There are some pics of it at this link:

I had fun, though and I want to get the hot tub next time! :happydance:

At least you had some breaks and meals. I'm glad it was fun. I still think I wouldn't have lasted very long. Walking or running? Yes. Standing in one place? No. :no2: :D

My husband plays the guitar. He's been playing ever sine he was 14 years old. He thought about going professional but, decided that he didn't like the hours & all of the travelling involved in being a musician. He's actually a really, really good guitar player. I know how to play the piano & the flute but, it's been years since I tried to play either instruments. I would probably need a refresher course with both instruments-LOL!
