I've been pretty good. I've been busy helping my two kids get their end of the school year projects done. Thankfully Friday is the last day of school. They both deserve a much needed rest. How are ya'll doing?

Dew, my kids got out on the 24th. And I'm already counting down the days to the first day of school LOLOL ;)

Kind of cloudy today, but 64 degrees already. Didn't get my flowers put out Monday so my teen and I are doing it today. And I might be taking another trip out to NJ this month. Waiting to hear from the court out there.

Other than that, I cannot believe that it's already June 1st! :jawdrop: How is everyone doing, today? Inquiring minds want to know! :read: :wow:

Dewleaf, CO_Fowler, IE,

Are your kids/teens going to be doing any particular summer activities? Keep them out of trouble? ;)

Last day of school before summer break used to be so exciting. There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood I live in. Some of the kids around here like to court trouble unfortunately.

I thought I was getting over my recent cold, but I went out to the flea market this weekend with family and I guess the walking around/heat exacerbated it again. I feel like I've had a bit of a set back the past few days. I am slowly turning it around again.

Summer weather is here in full force! Hot and muggy.

The court? Someone have you mixed up in some legal issues? :(

My kids would have gotten out of school tomorrow but, they had to go an extra day because they missed school because of ice and snow the 1st part of February. For the past 3 or 4 years, the kids in this area get out of school the 1st week of June and go back the 3rd week of August. Too bad they can't wait until the 1st part of September to go back to school...

CO_Fowler, I'm sorry to hear that you are getting over a cold. So is my daughter. She slept most of the weekend and still has a pretty bad cough.

We've got high school rodeo, farm work, 4-H and my teen has FFA to help keep them busy ;)

24, my Aunt died and left me all of her things. Only, she didin't update the will as others named in it died, as well as the executer, and as I got older. So now I get to go through all kinds of hoops, getting death certificates for all named in the will that have died including the executor, pay $600 a month for storage fees and pay the state of NJ so I can sign the probate and be able to get her stuff. I'm currently waiting to hear how much I have to pay to be Bonded so we can get the probate done. It's taught me one important thing, though......UPDATE YOUR WILL! ;) :incircles:

I don't have one yet but, I'll keep that in mind whenever my husband and I get one. Hopefully it won't take too long to get your late aunt's will straightened out.

I just got off the phone with the court surrogate. If we can get the bond set then she said that we should be able to get everything signed in one day, two at the most. I am trying to not get excited, but I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel :: crossess fingers :: She died in '09, I got notice in '10 ( a year and 3 months after she died ) and might finally be able to get everything moved back here this year yet!

I've been out there once already. In November '10, the one lawyer that had been her guardian told me all I had to do was go out and sign the probate. I get there and the court says that I need to do lots more, like get an inventory of her things, get the death certificates, try and find any of the three witnesses that may still be living ( a friend of my Aunts found the one living witness who was great and helped me with that part ), do about 10 more things, get bonded and then I could finally sign the probate. :: breathes again :: ;) That part of the trip was wasted, but I took my oldest to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and we found the Liberty Science Center by accident, but enjoyed it! Unless he gets his permit and goes to a rodeo out that way, this is probably the only time he'll get out that way.

If I do go out, my teen has asked if he can go with me. He loves the Statue of Liberty so I think he'd enjoy seeing it in person :)

Okie, sorry for the mini rant up there. This has been a frustrating journey dealing with NJ law and courts and at least one NJ lawyer
