So I mentioned on another thread that my cat has been sick. He's been vomiting all week long and he stopped eating grass and drinking water a few days ago. So I decided it was time to take him to the Vet. His blood work was fine. They gave him some fluids for dehydration, an anti-nausea shot and an appetite stimulant. Hopefully that will turn him around this weekend. He didn't immediately go hide and sleep when we got home. He is sitting out and grooming himself. He seems a little more responsive. Update: He is drinking water, and trying to nibble on his food (only a piece or too). He's also up and walking around. Even using the litter box again. Hopefully he will continue to progress quickly. The medicine the doctor gave him seems to be just the thing he needed. I just hope whatever was making him sick has worked its way out of his system by the end of the weekend. That anti-nausea shot she gave him only lasts 24 hours. The water he drinks now and fluids he was given earlier will continue to flush his system too. Update2: Well, my little buddy is starting to feel better. He's not eating as much as he usually does and he still seems a little tired, but he is becoming more and more responsive. He is keeping his food down too. He's been sticking to me like glue. He wants a lot of attention. He's usually not this clingy. I guess he just wants some TLC. Glad to hear the little fur ball is getting back on his feet. Hardest part with sick pets is figuring out just what they need and what is bothering them. |

Thanks. We really don't know what the problem was, but he is almost back to his old self. He still seems a bit tired, but he is eating regularly. He even seems to like the indoor formula that I switched him too. |

Does he wander around outside a lot? Much of a mouser? Sometimes they can get a bad one. I've seen cats get upset stomachs from eating moths. |

He roams around the house, but does not go outside. There are never any mice in the house due to the way the house is built. The other cats are indoor cats, but they go out occasionally. One of them probably tracked something in on his/her paws and contaminated my cat's water tank (he has a separate eating, drinking, etc. area). They go to his water tank and clean their paws in it.

"Speed" channel has been running a lot of "Monster Jam" today and of course Mini-Swidden has been completely enthralled. Every time one of the trucks that he has a Hot Wheels version of comes on screen his HW version is flying off of everything big enough for it to roll on. |

Ahhh, to be young and so enthusiastic! ![]() That's cute. Apparently I have the "Speed" channel too, but I rarely ever look up channels that high up on the menu guide. |

I would think that, given your geographic location, the box would tune to Speed first the moment it is turned on. |

We were supposed to get snow last night, but it ended up passing "my side of town" by. The snow supposedly hit other parts. |

24, glad to hear that your cat seems to have gotten over whatever the tummy troubles were. Sometimes animals just feel sick the same way we do -- kitty flu. Denver is in its usual roller coaster of winter weather. Early in the week we had single-digit temps and 8" of snow. Yesterday & today are sunny and 50+ degrees. The car washes are doing a booming business this weekend. Yesterday's spring-like temps made me anxious for summer. It didn't help that I had just gotten a new tent for summer camping. * Sigh -- spring fever * I pulled out the tent and set it up on the pretext that I had to make sure it fit just right. See, it's designed specifically to fit into the back bed of my pickup truck. If it didn't fit right, I would need to return it within a certain time. (Sounds like a good excuse, doesn't it?) Given that it sits down into the truckbed, the support poles for the upper dome felt a little odd to set up (they fit into exterior pockets above the sides of the truck, and the whole thing straps on with hooks latched to the underside of the truck). Here's a website link so you can visualize it better: http://sportzbynapier.com/product.html?product_num=58 New camping toys are so much fun. The tent fit in exactly right, and with a little practice hopefully I won't look like a total idiot next time I try to set it up again. Sure had all the neighbors curious. |

^^ Thanks. He seems to be 100% now! ![]() That is a cool looking tent. Will you put an air bed down to make sleeping more comfortable? |

I just checked the support boards and there were a few other reports of similar experiences, but no reason for the cause has been mentioned. Someone on staff mentioned there were no outages. Let me know if it happens again. We can submit a support ticket. |

It wasn't just here. SisterTrek and SB63's board were giving me trouble too. Everyother site I accessed though (news, AOL, bills, etc.) was loading fine and quick... |

Everything seems to be functioning properly for you now? If it starts up again, then I'll make sure to report it. |

ZetaBoards has been a pretty reliable boardware in general. Hopefully whatever issue was happening with their servers is now resolved. Hey Swidden!

Oh, yes, definitely an air bed. I'm all about comfort when I can camp next to -- or now even in -- the vehicle. I even have a reclining camp chair! It's the envy of everyone on the trail crews. That truck tent is 5 feet tall, so I can nearly stand up in it, which surprised me a lot. Makes it feel a lot roomier, as there are only 36" of usable floorspace width in the truckbed between my wheel wells. The height makes it a lot easier to move things around & change clothes inside. When it's only me for a weekend, I don't need much for floor space. When my partner & I camp together, we take an 8-person tent, 6-feet tall, big enough for 2 cots with air pads on them & still room to stand up to change clothes. We can even fit a small camp chair inside too. That makes life a lot more pleasant when a big afternoon rainstorm passes through and you get pinned down in the tent for a couple of hours. It will be an interesting experience for me to get back into backpacking this summer and re-learn how to do without many of those creature comforts. You just don't carry cots & a reclining chair on your back for 30 miles. Fortunately there are a lot of new comfort-adding light-weight gizmos now that didn't exist some decades ago when I previously engaged in backpacking with my sis & bro-in-law. Us old geezers like comfort. Sorry it took so long to get back here to answer that question. Life gets crazy some weeks, and we're swamped at work. The mountains are getting another couple of feet of snow just in time for the Presidents' Day holiday weekend. The skiers are all ecstatic, so our sporting goods warehouse is scrambling to keep our stores supplied with goggles, gloves, handwarmers, etc. |
