Oh, that darned Alzheimer's ... can't think of the movie that "jiggety jig" line came from. Know I've heard it ... :headscratch: 24, if you know it, go ahead.
I have no idea where the quote is from.
OK, this bugged me enough that I actually had to search for it on the 'net.
Was the movie Blade Runner?

I think I saw it once, but can't really remember it well.
Most likely I was remembering the original Mother Goose rhyme the line came from. "To market, to market, to buy a fat pig ... home again, home again, jiggety jig."

Hey there Swidden! :hello:
Hey yourself 24!

For the record the "jiggety-jig" line came from "Blade Runner". I think it originates in a nursery rhyme though.

And now for something completely different...

One of the fun things about having a toddler in the house is the opportunity to catch references to more grown up shows in his shows. The other day, as is often the case, he was watching Disney Channel. The show "Wizards of Waverly Place" came on after one of his usual shows. In it there was this "blink and you'll miss it" reference to Battlestar Galactica. One of the main characters and their buddy (being kind of nerdy) reference their belief in an impending robot revolution. The character says that first they will rebel, then they will evolve, and that they have a plan. Almost verbatim the text lines that appeared at the start of BSG episodes.

^ I watch a wide variety of shows (for different demographics). I love catching the references too...especially to Sci-Fi shows. Its amazing how many Star Trek references that writers make.

Ahhhh, to the "Blade Runner" reference.

Hey Swidden, does apple harvest mainly only happen once a year?

I like that new "Toy Story 3" commercial. The man looking at the computer screen goes, who is velosistar23..?. The "teenage" girl dinosaur jumps on the computer real quick to click the IM/screen off while saying something like... "oh he's the dinosaur down the street."

It was really cute.

Well, I guess I could qualify it all by saying that in the next month or two Southern Hemisphere varieties should be ramping up production. I don't know if you see it your part of the country so much, but I know that we do find some coming in from New Zealand especially. Nice, since they taste better than the American ones pulled out of cold storage (or, as they call it these days, controlled atmosphere).

I am not usually one for clicking on the ad l inks that appear on board pages here or elsewhere. However, one for Cafe Press came up showing Trek stuff and I decided to have a looksee. Lots of different stuff there One of my favorites is a t-shirt that reads "My species was assimilated and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!" Not original, but a funny twist. Another was a red t-shirt with the Trek insignia and the words "Ah crap..." :loling:

Have a look for yourself here...

We get a lot of Braeburn and Gala apples coming into this area during the winter and spring. I love the Braeburn...very tasty.

Some really are. I found myself really thinking about which ones I might like to add to my collection. Although most of what I get usually isn't kept in "collectible" preservation mode. I like to be able to put my hands on them. So things like the Sigg bottles, the stadium blankets, etc. look really interesting to me.

They have a Keep On Trekkin' stadium blanket! :D

I like that bag and shirt that says "have your Tribble spayed or neutered". :bolt:

I like a lot of the mugs too.

I think depending on how you look at it, it could be "or" and/or "and". I mean, who knows what their plumbing is really like.

Oh, brother, that could be a really fun and dangerous site .... I liked the TOS red shirt with "Uh-oh" printed on it.
Somebody lock up my credit cards.

Oops, too late ... I just found my nephew's Christmas gift there. He's currently in medical school, and there's a Sigg water bottle with "Please state the nature of the medical emergency" printed on it. It's perfect!

Oooh, and did you see they have a "Keep On Trekkin'" bottle?

I don't usually stay up to watch Craig Ferguson on CBS' "The Late, Late Show", however I caught it the other night and found he a Dalek for a sidekick. Turns out the next night the newest "Dr. Who" actor was going to be on. Stayed up to watch it and it turns out the Dalek is here for at least the week.

Cool. I wonder when they are going to air Series (season) Five here in the US on a station that you get? I really like Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. I have had a chance to watch some of the episodes staring Christopher Eccleston and I like him in the role too. I still can't get into David Tennant. I know he is a favorite amongst many, but all I see is his character from Harry Potter. I just find his mannerisms/style/accent to be too grating to like.

I think it will be next year before the next series airs here (I hate that they call it a series instead of a season).

So was the Dalek one of the new ones? I will record an episode this week to check the Dalek out.

Edit: I have updated the Dr. Who thread with additional comments.
