Thanks, 24, I did have a pretty good time ... more in-depth reports on the adventures in our Blog section.

Yesterday we attended tournament playoff baseball games for the grandson. I'm fairly glad that season is over ... now on to football before we know it.
Today I'm headed up the road to visit Mom & help her with a few chores (mowing, vacuuming, etc.).
In two weeks I'll be headed back out for another trail-building adventure with another Colorado Trail Foundation maintenance crew. We will be scratching out a brand new trail linking the Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. That will last for a week; I think I'll maybe have my fill of camping by the time that's done. :campfire:
I'll definitely have my fill of sponge-bathing using a bucket of river water, and be ever so ready to come home to a real shower!

Yeah, computer problems for the last 10 days made life tedious. System is 6 months old and they had to change out the CPU! Very rare problem, usually only affects hardcore gamers who over heat their systems.

Computer problems are enough to make you want to .... :pullhair: :throwcomp:

Good to see you back. I thought maybe you went on a super fabulous vacation. I was about to ask for pictures. :wow:

I needed to help her mow her grass, which is barely a little strip because she lives in a mobile home park. I hadn't had to do that for quite a long time, as my sister's family lives in the same town and usually one of them gets it done. However, this was just a busy time for them, so ...
Anyway, she has a self-propelled gas mower, and while I was fighting with it to make a turn at the end of my first strip of cutting, the engine died. Couldn't get it restarted. Waited a while, just in case I had flooded it, and tried again, but no luck. So I ended up getting frustrated enough that I just took her electric Weed Eater and "mowed" the grass with it.
(Is there a "throws lawn mower" emoticon like we have for the "throws computer?")
Machinery and I don't get along well.
Next time, I'm taking my push-reel mower with me. You don't have to pull any stupid cord to get that thing to start.

I don't see people use those anymore. Do you use one on your lawn?

Yes, I do. The yard isn't very large, so I just couldn't see any sense in continuously buying gas for a powered mower ... or adding to the air pollution the way that small engines do. It also has the side benefit of being extremely quiet. I can mow at 7:00AM if I want to and I won't wake the neighbors. And I never have to change a spark plug or fight with the pull cord to get it going.

Places like Home Depot and Ace Hardware still carry a few models of push reel mowers. And they're lighter now than they were in my grandma's day. Easier to maneuver.

I'm leaving in a few hours for a week of camping in the mountains and building a new trail. I imagine I will be really anxious for a real shower and my own bed by next Saturday. Meanwhile, it's an air mattress in a tent and sponge-bathing with a bucket of river water while we create a new trail for hikers to enjoy in the future. And I hope to squeeze in a couple of hikes for enjoyment while in the area. See you all later. :wave2:

Don't be like Kirk in STV and forget to take your communicator. Park officials really don't care for those unplanned shuttlecraft landings in the middle of the night...

Not yet. I get the keys a fortnight tomorrow, then I'll move the following day. Just got to pack stuff up, so have started gathering boxes galore

The packing and moving part is a pain. It will give you the opportunity to get rid of stuff you don't really need though.

Seriously, I just decided out of the blue to upgrade. I had been informed a long time ago that the Fast Reply function would work with IE8. I just didn't care to upgrade yet. I was hoping they would fix the Fast Reply function long before now. IE7 is still in wide use.
