^^

You built an igloo? :wow: How big is it?
Its big enought for one adult size person and his mushing dog to sit inside
Are you going to take a picture of your igloo for us so that we can admire the greatness of the igloo too? B)

Knowing how to build an igloo can be a handy survival skill.
We're supposed to get hit with some snow overnight, but the 3-7" predicted probably won't be enough for igloo-building. Might make for a white Christmas, though.

Big snow storm hit the north east this weekend; there were reports of 28 inches in my area and while I didn’t break out my ruler their where drifts on my deck almost as tall as me. The Town fell down on the job taking way too long to clear the roads; and my particular road, ending in a cul-de-sac, has yet to be cleared to my satisfaction.

My body sure hurts for shoveling; my wife is ready to move to California; and I made an igloo in my back yard, so one out of three ant bad
28 inches?!! :jawdrop:

:loling: :rotfl:

I mean, sorry to hear that. :o ;)

Seriously, I don't envy you at all.
You don’t know the joys of building an igloo.
Actually I do. I built them as a kid when I was growing up in Massachusetts. I do remember it being a lot of fun - one of the few things I enjoyed doing in the snow and was actually worth freezing my butt off to do.

She was performing on a Carrie Underwood Holiday special that night. I felt the need to speak up about it. :D

Ok, I see now. :D Before I was thinking Dolly Parton? I haven't heard her name in years. :headscratch: So I figured there had to be more to it.

So we went back and purchased the additional 2 days for Disney World yesterday. But before we went, I called them to find out how long the ticket booths were open because we had been told we had to return to the Magic Kingdom ticket booths to upgrade the tickets. It was already afternoon because we had company at our house until early afternoon and I knew the ticket booths closed at some point because they were closed as we were leaving last weekend. I was told on the phone that we could extend our tickets at Disney Marketplace and didn't have to go to Magic Kingdom.

Hmm... :headscratch:

We had gone over that very point several times with the woman at the Magic Kingdom ticket booth when we were there a week ago. We had even asked about Disney Marketplace because that's a whole lot more convenient (you don't have to pay the $14 for parking or deal with the shuttle to and from the parking lot). But she insisted that, if we didn't purchase the 3 days right then, we would have to return to the Magic Kingdom ticket booths to extend them later within 14 days. And that was the only place it could be done. So now I'm thinking that was a pressure sales tactic trying to convince us it would be a headache later so we'd be better off buying them on the spot. :ermm:

Anyway, we did get them extended at Disney Marketplace.

^ That sounds like a lot of hassle to get the tickets straightened out.

Will the monkey child/friend being going back with you when you return?

We got cut off from the internet yesterday afternoon. They're doing road construction not too far from our office and they cut through 3 trunk lines which cut off all the buildings in our area. It's the second time this happened recently. I'll be glad when they finally get that road finished.

That's annoying. You would think the construction crews would have figured out after the first time what to cut though and what not to cut through. ;)

You would think so. Actually, they're almost finished (they're widening the road), so I'm not even sure what it is they would be cutting anymore.

Its a little weird and sometimes surprising seeing the World Trade Center towers in old(er) movies.

I have Men in Black on the TV and it just flashed a background scene of NY (and the Towers).

Sometimes I smile because they are preserved in film, and other times I get sad seeing them.

I agree it's a little weird. That happened to me not too long ago. I forget what move I was watching at the time, but it took me right out of the movie and back to reality because I knew they couldn't be there. Another reason it was odd was because I thought the movie was only a few years old and I instantly realized it had to be older than that. :D

And now it's used to illustrate that one has left their current day setting... You've got the US remake of Life on Mars that used the World Trade Center to establish the 70s setting of the show, and it was at the end of the first season of Fringe to establish that the lead was in an alternate universe.
