Work has been killing me this week. There hasn't been anything big going on, but just floods of little stuff. I get 3 things done and 5 more come in. A few of them have been rush items for clients so that has added to the pace. I'm definitely ready for the weekend! :thud:

I need a new computer mouse. The right button no longer wants to click. I wore it out!

I use the left click more, but it is fine. Go figure.

I had a system update to do on Friday so I didn't end up leaving work that day until almost 7:00 pm.

The weather was quite nice here over the weekend so I hope you lucked up too. :)

That's what happens when you have internet addiction disorder. ;) :whistle2:

I may need a new computer. Periodically, my computer completely freezes up. The odd thing is it only happens when the computer is sitting idle. It also may be something with my network card because I got a blue screen related to the network driver over the weekend. But both could be a motherboard issue as well in which case I would replace the computer to fix that one - it's at least 5 years old.

On Friday night, my daughter said she felt like she had sand in her cast. Before I could blink, she stuck a pen she was holding down the cast under the bottom of her foot. The pen was the type with a cap so the red alert came on and I said "Wait! Don't put that in there, the cap may not come back out!" No sooner had I said that and she pulled the pen out and the cap didn't come with it. I spent about a half an hour poking around in there with a long flat screwdriver (I taped the end so it wouldn't be sharp), but I couldn't find the cap. It had to come out though because it was under her foot when she walked.

So, on Saturday, we went back to the orthopedic clinic where it took almost 5 hours to get done! The first 4 1/2 hours were just waiting in the waiting room for our turn. :anxious: : They took off her cast and put on a new one. Meanwhile, she was then about 2 1/2 hours late to a birthday party she was supposed to go to. When we got to the birthday party, I could tell that something wasn't right with the cast because she was walking differently and her toes (which stick out of the cast) were touching the ground as she walked.

The clinic wasn't open on Sunday so my wife took her back this morning. It turns out they didn't put the cast on right on Saturday so they had to redo it yet again. Everything is back to normal now with the cast. All that for a pen cap!

Ahh, the blue screen of death. I would much rather have to replace a mouse than a whole computer.

Geeze! That is a lot of hassle. I would be pretty perturbed with her, but kids don't really think about the consequences of their actions the way we are able to.

To be safe, I’d keep all the pens away from her until the cast comes off. :D

Believe me, she heard from me about it. She had started to put a quarter down in the top of her cast a few days earlier and I had told her in no uncertain terms then that nothing goes in that cast. So she got an earful about not following directions. And every time she verbalized boredom or impatience to me in the waiting room, I reminded her that we wouldn't be there if she had done what she had been told. She's generally a good kid though so she doesn't usually need much more than a scolding to straighten out. I'm pretty sure she learned her lesson even without the scolding just because of the long wait in the clinic and missing a lot of the birthday party. She lost all her cast signatures too.

thats good to hear

When my wife was younger she broke her leg, and did the whole cast thing. Toward the end of her stint her mother thought it would be ok for her to take my wife's cast off so that they could go to the beach. Turned out it was a bad idea and when my wife went back to the Doctor they increased her stay with the cast another two months.

Sounds like she might have learned her lesson.

At least she hasn't put anything real sharp down her cast in an attempt to scratch. Like a wire hanger. That end will just scratch up her leg.

True (ouch), but for the most part she wouldn't have access to anything like that. She could get to some kitchen utensils maybe or some scissors, but I can't think of much else accessible to her that would be that dangerous. Even our hangers are mostly plastic.
