TribbleMom! :D :hello: :hello:
Hey, there 24 :wave2:

I see that it's back to your original name again, instead of the Halloween name. That was cute, though.

I'm home today in the middle of the day because we're having a big blizzard in the Denver area. Schools are closed, roads are treacherous, and I spent 3 hours this morning shovelling my driveway. At least I got my daily exercise, but I think my back and arms will be protesting later. You should see the drift we're developing in our backyard. It's at least hip-deep if not more, and still snowing!

A blizzard?! :jawdrop:

Sounds good except for the whole shoveling snow thing.

You could go out and build a snowman. :D

(I changed my name back because it was confoozing me. ;) )

It's still only October. That's too early for a blizzard! Well, obviously not where you live, but still. I don't envy you. (But I do envy you with the mountains, canyons, and overall country out there! )

Nice to see STC pop in again.

As is typical for Colorado, the 2+ days of snow were followed by a couple of days of warm sunshine, so the big melt has commenced.

I think the official snow measurement for my area was 24 inches. Some places up in the mountains got 35 - 40 inches of snow. The ski resort people are turning backflips, they're so happy.

I noticed that, in this newer housing development, it was the wind causing us problems, not so much the amount of snow that we got. We just don't have enough buildings and big trees in the area yet to break up the wind and stop the drifting. Some places around here only ended up with a few inches' accumulation, while other places had shoulder-high drifts. It only got about knee-high in our driveway (twice, though -- we had shovelled Wednesday evening before retiring for the night, and then had to re-shovel it again Thursday).

Usually it snows right on Halloween, so all the kids were thinking they were lucky this year. Trick-or-treaters only rang our doorbell about a half-dozen times last night. Anyone else get many little goblins?

Not many, but that's only because I was at a party, so I wasn't in the house to receive them ;)

Two feet of snow would be huge around where I live. We haven't gotten that much snow at once in several years.

Did you ever stop to wonder who was the first person to think, "I'm gonna try to eat that thing that comes out of a chicken's butt and see how it tastes."???

I've always wondered how they knew eggs made a good ingredient for baked goods (e.g. cakes). Or how they discovered this.

Took me a few seconds to figure out that was IE (because of the change in avatar).

Did you make it yourself, IE?

Thanks TribbleMom and 24. :)

Yes, I did make it myself. I didn't draw the juggler though - I found that part on the internet. But I removed the juggling pins that were originally there and added the Star Trek insignias. I actually did 2 different ones which you may or may not have seen. At first, I had put 3 different Starfleet insignias. Then it occurred to me that it might be better to do different ones so I changed 2 of them to the Klingon and Romulan insignias.

The banner at the bottom of the main board wants to know if we are Jedi?

Btw Swidden, that banner ad you mentioned earlier has apparently come to the attention of the Zeta people due to numerous complaints/reports. They are trying to get it removed from the rotation (they may have already done so by now).
