Hey, all ... wanted to let you know that I'm not abandoning you here, but I need to take a week's sabatical from the boards. It's Spring Break for the schools here, and we're taking the grandsons down to Mississippi to visit my in-laws. It's been a good while since I was down there myself. My camping buddies are looking in on the kitties while we're gone. We'll be leaving a little later today. Must remember how to speak Southern ... there are certain phrases that have meaning in the South that Yankees don't normally use. See you all in about a week.

^^ Have fun and safe trip! ![]() I bet kitties are going to miss you.... ![]()
Your best bet is to not even try. When non-Southerners try to speak like Southerners, it usually comes off as condescending or insulting. That will tick even the most mild mannered Southerner off. ![]() Just be yourself. ![]()
True. There are probably some Mississippi colloquialisms that I'm not even familiar with. |

STC is alive! I thought he ran off somewhere sunny and warm. Tribblemom is going to Mississippi? I was there on a stopover to Texas. Boy was it hot then. It was fun though. There were casinos. |

Did they give you a refund for all that time you lost? Usually around here, if you call customer service and complain about an outage that was their fault, they give you a little discount off your bill. |

That's good. I tend to go a bit batty when I am without Internet access at home for any length of time.

I'm glad Google stopped showing those get rid of ce-l-l-u-li-te ads on the board. I was about ready to revolt and go eat a Big Mac just to be contrary. ![]() By the way, I added dashes to the word to keep the ads from appearing on this thread.

Oh Louise.... cellul*** is one of those ugly things in life you wouldn't wish on anybody. Thank goodness I can't see back there. Better not to look and find out I say. How's everyone doing? I've been busy here and there. The weather is starting to break and Easter is coming up soon. I've decided to make little Easter Egg baskets for the younger nieces and nephews. So I've been racking my brain thinking of little things to put in their baskets. I've been combing the grocery stores for *ehem* Star Trek promotionals. I don't know if we're so far backwards that none of that stuff gets here ORRRRRRRRRR there are tons of closet Star Trek fans getting to all the goodies before me. I'll be going back out to look again. Wish me luck. |

I can't find a darned thing in those grocery aisles. Not even Walmart!I walk in and I walk out empty handed. People must think I'm nuts. I know 24 has found stuff in her local grocery stores. Have you found anything TribbleMom? |

No luck in Denver, either. I was just at a grocery store yesterday, stocking up for the spring blizzard that we're supposed to have (fresh milk, bread, eggs -- those are always the first things to deplete if the delivery trucks have trouble getting to the stores). I checked for Eggo's and cereal. No Trek promos to be seen. As I write this, it's still very early morning, so all is dark outside and difficult to see how much snow fell overnight. But the wind is whipping like crazy, and we're supposed to have snow continue throughout the day. We really needed this moisture. A good day to stay home with a good book and a kitty on my lap. |

Another forum I go to has all kinds of words go through the word filter to try and avoid questionable adds. Words like relationship or dating show up as rel@tionship and d@ting when some types them out. I'm getting an ad for BollywoodCruises.com right now. |

I see an ad for "plentyoffish.com", a cute name for a singles website. Isn't it amazing what we have to do to get around seeing some ads pop up ... like not completely spelling out celluli... |
