 Is the street name a person's name?

Maybe someone with that name saw it and thought: "Hey cool! My name! I'm taking that!"

My street is a man's name. I'm surprised no one by that name has taken it yet.
No, the name is nature inspired. Not a particularly "pretty" name either.

I'd hate to be one of those people who lived on a street that has the same name. Like, "My name is Robert J. Jones IV. I live on Robert J. Jones Lane". The original Bob being his great great grandfather or something. The address could get confusing looking.

How's Dax fitting in so far?
24, thanks for asking. Dax is doing just fine and my other kitty seems to be getting along with her well, too. I'm very much enjoying her playfulness, and it seems to have brought out the playfulness in my older cat, too. Although I still haven't seen them actually curl up together (intertwined, as cats often do) for a nap, they have at least napped kind of close to each other. Dax has a real distinct personality, she's a quick learner, and very curious. The unfortunate thing, though, is that she has a very quiet purr. I can feel her purr, but you really can't hear it. And a purring cat is one of my favorite sounds.

Sorry I haven't been on the boards all week. Just that darned "real life" stuff again. Sounds like things have been eventful, what with zooming motorcycles and street signs being stolen.

Maybe in time they will become closer buds.

My cat isn't a loud purr-er either.

Understandable. See you soon (or when we see you). :D

Hey, all, just checking in before a busy weekend (again). Have a basketball game for the youngest grandson today, then driving up to see my mom and help her with a few chores, then back to the Denver area to have dinner out with the step-son and his family.

BTW, I'm posting some more links to new kitty pictures in the Blogosphere section. I just love showing off my pretty girls.

Do you guys remember that room I never painted after my nephew took a sharpie and decided to practice writing his name on my walls?

Well guess what. I accomplished something this weekend. It's all painted and put together. Took me what? Six months or so to finish?

I think its been a lot longer than six months (*cough* almost a year *cough*) . :rotfl: :bolt:

So what will you be painting next? :P

A year? Really? :rotfl: Oh my....

I don't think I want to do anymore painting in the near future. Too much work. Paint everywhere.

Intrepid,
Yes, painting is a big job and very messy. No matter how hard you try, you always end up with paint in places that you never intended for it to be (like in your hair, on your clothes, etc.). But kudos to you for tackling the job and getting it done. No more sharpie on your walls!

You mean no more little nephew in the house.

You know that little booger has been eyeing my Star Trek Pez Candy dispenser kit? ;) He's seen it and it's something I can't get him to forget. These kids are so used to getting what they want whenever they come to my house. But no siree.... I draw the line on my Pez kit. :whistle2:

Do y'all want to keep this strictly Sci-Fi or make it a Sci-Fi and Fantasy game... A to Z for all Sci-Fi ?

Adding a little fantasy would be good. I wouldn't mind.

But then again, define "fantasy". :)

The Fantasy genre (e.g. magic, the supernatural, mythical…)

Everything from Harry Potter, Vampire tales, Lord of the Rings, Charmed…make believe fantastical type stuff.

Nothing freaky deaky. :whistle2:  :P

Gotcha! I was going to include my shoes in the fantasy genre but Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Charmed I think I can do.

Yes my shoes. :rotfl: My shoe closet is Imelda Marcos' fantasy.

Ever get into one of those funks when the last thing you remember was Monday, when today is Thursday afternoon?

Where does time fly?

You've got over 1,000 pairs of shoes? :jawdrop:

Yeah, I get in that kind of funk every once in a while. As long as I don't smell funky, then I can usually make it through.  ;)

What??!! Today is Thursday already? I think I missed a couple of days, too. Of course, having to work with brain-dead turkeys will do that to you. I've spent all week fixing other people's mistakes.

Actually, they did. I just had my annual review last week. With the rotton economy, I really wasn't expecting a raise at all, so even a small one is a plus in my eyes.
