Sounds cool. ;)

Okay so I just took the Star Trek Quiz and it turned out to be a scam to get us to sign up for a LG Shine phone.

The quiz wasn't even that good.

So how much money did the tooth fairy fork out?

She's a smart cookie. I don't think you'll get away with $5.
Actually you were right on the money (pun intended ;) ) - we gave her $5 - er, um, I mean the tooth fairy did :whistle2: . The first time we gave her a $5 bill and I'm not sure she completely understood that was the same as 5 $1 bills. So the last two times we have given her 5 $1 bills and she seems happy with that.
:no2: I'm going to have to have a little talk with the little one.
You can't even buy a slipper for $5.

Dang, teeth have really soared in value since I was a kid. Mine were only worth a quarter each.

So if I go to the dentist, have all me teeth removed and start using dentures, and put all my real teeth under my pillow ... :chin:

I saw a story on the news recently about an elderly man who was out mowing his lawn on a riding lawn mower when he was hit by a stray bullet. He wasn't injured though because the bullet hit his cell phone in his shirt pocket! :wow:

He said he hardly ever carries the cell phone and certainly not while he mows the grass. He did that day though.

The police don’t know where the bullet came from.

TribbleMom,

How goes the packing and house hunting?
We're just getting the condo de-cluttered right now, making trips to the Goodwill store and packing up knick-knacks and excess items, so there are a lot of boxes. I think we'll have to get the storage unit rented today, or else we soon won't be able to move around much.

Yesterday I packed up all my 400+ beloved Star Trek books. Those and most of the bookshelves will be going to storage for a while. (Meanwhile, I'm reading the fantasy Eragon/Eldest/Brisinger series of books about a dragon rider.) We need to make our living room look bigger.

I will be packing away my summer clothing today (creating more closet space). Hopefully by the next time I need it, we'll be in a real house.

We're not so much in a hurry to get out of where we're currently at just to move ... we need to find the right house, as we don't want to move again until we're ready for the nursing home ourselves. (Or unless we win the lottery and can afford that dream log home way up in the mountains :loling: ). This could be an extended process because we're looking for the right kind of "geriatric" house where an aging parent (or possibly 2) could be with us if needed. And if the Universe is really good to us, we'll find a house roomy enough that I can have an entire room devoted solely to my Star Trek library, Trek knick-knacks, and Hamilton Trek collector wall plates.

Actually listing the condo and house-hunting probably won't start in earnest until after Christmas.

I think you getting so much of the packing out of the way now will save y'all a lot of stress once the house hunting and moving gets underway.

It sure will. There won't be that much left other than the furniture, dressers, and the TV. That's when we'll hire the "Two Men and a Truck" kind of folks to just come in and pick up the heavy stuff for us.

We're hoping that the timing will work out OK so that we can just go from this condo into a house, but there's always that possibility that this condo might sell before we find the right house. That's why we rented a pretty big storage unit, just in case we have to put the furniture in storage as well and temporarily live in one of those extended-stay suites that rent by the month. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we don't have to go through that hassel. :fingers:

I hope they send more than just "Two men and a truck." Maybe four or five men to help out. ;)

It sounds like you are doing a good job planning ahead. Moving is a huge task and some people try to do things last minute and they are left holding the bag and ripping their hair out.

Victoria's Secret certainly has toned down their line this season. They are doing a show on TV right now. I had heard that sales had been going down the last several seasons because the undergarments were getting trashier and trashier (i.e. not sexy, but in the deep end of slutty). The "everyday woman" was not liking the styles as much. In the past, I have been very surprised by some of the garments that were actually allowed to be shown on TV just because they were so skimpy/see through.

This time there are a lot of briefs, boy shorts, hipsters and just a few thongs and bikinis. Normally, they focus on thongs and bikini styles.

Some is still risqué, but definitely toned down overall. It also could be because it is winter. They'll probably go back to doing all dental floss this summer.

I think the celebrity audience is a little baffled by this slightly more conservative line.

Sorry guys for the bit of girlie talk there. ;)

Never eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich late at night before you go to bed. I did last night and ended up having dreams about terrorism.

It's not easy wearing that stuff and looking good at the same time.

You relatively have two choices here.

#1) You scare your significant other away.
#2) You scare yourself when you look at yourself in the mirror.

And you know that stuff is unreturnable.

You have to be model thin to do any of that stuff "justice". Its fantasy underwear.

I'm hoping to get a good night's rest tonight. I didn't sleep well at all last night and have had a terrible headache all day as a result. That's pretty much the only time I get headaches. Its hurting my eyes just looking at the monitor right now. Which is why I will be logging off the Net soon. :P

Hi guys. I know I haven't been around much lately.

I'm at the end of my first term this year, and studies are not going as well as they did last year. I keep kidding myself in saying that they are going great, but the fact is, I'm stressed, and my grades are slipping. :( I know the reason why and I'm working to correct that behavior. In two weeks, I'll be on vacation and afterwards, I can start over with the new term and a new attitude.

TribbleMom,

Sorry to hear you had one of those kinds of days. But if it makes you feel any better, I did too. I had last Thursday and Friday off and came back today expecting some catch up work. But, not only did I have that, but everything seemed to go wrong today too. I spent my day mostly fixing things and not doing any catching up. And I still have more fixing to get back to tomorrow.
