So Porthos just didn't seem to fit your new guy, huh? Congrats on the new pup. Hope he has a long and healthy life. From Dr. McCoy, regarding Tribbles, which can be viewed as pets (like dogs): "They're nice, they're soft, and they're furry, and they make a pleasant sound." |

Thanks. No, Porthos didn’t quite fit him. I think I ran through all of the main crew and pet names. |

Wow, nothing like watching a Christmas special in October! ![]() I couldn't resist though. It is a program featuring the Trans-Siberian Orchestra . I love their Christmas music. Its kind of a story-telling/orchestra performance. The program is Ghosts of Christmas Eve featuring Ossie Davis as the storyteller. Various singers are accompanying the Orchestra. |

I woke up today to a perfect Autumn day. The leaves are absolutely beautiful. I think today would be a perfect day for a drive. I was on one of the country back roads yesterday morning and passed a small table with vegetables on it and a sign that said "honk". I wouldn't of taken notice except that I saw the table had green tomatoes on it. As soon as I passed the little roadside vegetable stand, I turned around, parked my car right in front of this table and HONKED. Out came an elderly gentlemen and said, "What can I do for you young lady?" "How much are your green tomatoes?" "Two dollars for the bucket" "Sold". He then went on to put the tomatoes in a plastic bag for me and off I went. All this of course happening while I leave my car on the open road with my flashers on. I miss these bits of Americana while working in the city. All summer I've been looking for green tomatoes for the longest time because I have this fantastic recipe for fried green tomatoes. It's the simple things in life. I might have some for breakfast. Anybody want some? |

Intrepid, I think you can only find those un-manned vegetable stands in rural areas anymore. In big cities, those tomatoes would've just been taken without remorse. Nice to know that kind of honesty and trustworthiness still exists somewhere in this nation. Reminds me of my childhood rural upbringing. I was always taught that even if someone isn't right there, you do the right thing and pay anyway. Glad you had such a wonderful bit of serendipity. |

Since I live in an area that is very accessible to rural areas, I can find produce stands in several places. I still usually buy from the grocery store though (often more convenient to buy in one location). The places that I am thinking of do decent business in the summertime, so its nice to know some small farmers are still able to find ways to sell their produce. |

Hey Big Boss, doing fine.
You missed a LOT! Intrepid invented a new vaccine to counteract “stupid”. It’s a smart drug that can administered to all of the people who enter her ER who have done stupid and umm..err questionable things to hurt themselves. ![]() IE challenged David Blaine to a magic “walk off” and showed Blaine for the poser that he really is. ![]() Swidden invented a new cream from apple byproduct that supposedly makes your skin baby soft and counteracts male pattern baldness. ![]() TribbleMom climbed Mt. Everest. She became the first woman to climb Everest (ascend/descend) in one day. It has something to do with her special hiking boots. ![]() I won a trip around the world. Just returned and I am pooped. While traveling through the West (US), I met a super handsome cowboy. We had a great time together. Mel invented a new computer language that makes Steve Jobs and Bill Gates super jealous. They keep calling and begging her to come work for them. They just want to steal the language from her and make the big bucks. Mel told them to “talk to the hand”. ![]() |

Okay, Palin's winking by itself was one thing. Intrepid's avatar makes here look like she has a nervous tick. Combine that with her access to firearms and, well, I think liberals everywhere might start getting a little antsy... |

I need to de-stress...I'm so happy the weekend is coming. I have a big test tomorrow, and it seems like all the little things have been going wrong. Ever since my boyfriend left anyway. It's hard getting used to being the only adult in a household again. He was helping me so much around the house, and basically spoiling me. In two weeks, my class in taking a trip to a town about 4 hours away to visit an IT exposition. Should be fun. I can hardly wait, since it's a city I've never been to.

Ok, so I may have found a cool Halloween avatar. I'll put it up soon, but I'm gonna look around some more just in case I find something I like better.

That sounds like fun. Don't forget to take pictures! It hasn't been so long since your boyfriend left. I'm sure you'll get used to doing things on your own again. |
