Oooh, Mel, going to Scotland sounds wonderful. From the pics I've seen on stills and on TV, I'd probably never want to leave there.

24, yes, Denver usually has a few days every summer where we hit 100 degrees. All my mountain pics come from so much higher up in elevation that they look cooler and more pleasant, but Denver is only at 5280 feet ... still low enough to feel the heat. We're technically classified as "high desert" based on our annual rainfall. We're experiencing a terrible deficit of rainfall this year, too, so everyone's grass has turned brown and brittle already, as we also have watering restrictions in place.

Intrepid, I'm feeling great these days, and the doc did fully release me at my last exam. Thanks for asking. I'm really happy to be getting back to the high country again. Although I love this general area, sometimes living in a big metropolitan area like Denver gets me feeling down (too many people, too much noise, too many high ozone alert days) and I just have to get away.

Sirus, you just mosey on back and set a spell whenever you can. Take a load off and we'll jaw a while.

Hey back at ya. It's rare that we're on the borad at the same time ... but I have to dash off now. The 6-year-old grandson is having his last T-ball game tonight. See you soon!

Well, I might be in trouble. That bar I used to DJ at that closed down a couple years ago is opening up again. I'm going to the grand opening BBQ party on Saturday, and they already asked me if I could DJ for them again from time to time. I've been doing so well too staying out of the bars. But it might be a good change. Sometimes being too good gets you too uptight. It's good to be bad sometimes. The summer is getting really hot. It was 37 Celsius in Taipei this afternoon which is 100 F with 100 percent humidity. And I hear we have a typhoon coming this weekend. Hope everyone is enjoying themselves, and no I didn't mean it that way you preverts.

Hey Sirus, you can still have fun without being bad. If you think being in bars is too much of a temptation, then you should turn them down IMO.

The weather here has gotten HOT HOT HOT. Into the 100s. A little cooler yesterday. I'm hoping for a few thunder showers to cool things down soon. :fingers:

Remember, Sirus, just because you might go into a bar doesn't mean that you can't just order a plain old Coke. Hope that typhoon isn't to bad.

Pretty hot around the Rockies, too. I forget how many straight days we've been at or above 90 degrees ... 12, 13, somewhere around there. And no end in sight yet according to our forecasters. I'm running away to the higher, cooler elevations again tomorrow.

Hey everybody. How are you all? Sorry I haven't been around much (Seem to be saying that a lot these days) but I just fancied some time out from the internet and other things. To be honest I would still be away if it wasn't for something that has come up recently. This is the only forum I have posted at so far though, and will in all likelyhood remain the only one I post at.

So what's been happening? I hear Mr. Ramsey has been lurking...

Well I survived, just barely. It was amazing, and I realized all the friends I met here in Taiwan I met at the old bar. Last night it was like everyone I knew in Taiwan was there. The sound system was just getting set up and the amp which was apparently ancient blew and blew a fuse along with it. Imagine a crowded bar completely dark for half an hour only a few candles to light it. Once the power came back on though we had an 80s flashback mix, and I left around 5am. The sun was just peeking through the storm clouds. Today the typhoon is just making it's arrival known. Sheets of rain and gusts of wind. It's actually kind of musical, and if my writing seems a little strange, I'm still recovering now. It's about 5pm and I just made myself breakfast. We're battoning down the roof for the storm and having a nice lazy Sunday evening. Hope you all had a great weekend. Talk to you soon.

Hey Big Boss, good to see you. I think we all have fancied a bit of time away from the internet on occasions. I hope to see you around more often.

Sirus, glad you made it through. The night at the bar sounds like a real blow out. Okay, had to do a cheesy pun about the loss of electricity. :p Hope everyone makes it through the typhoon okay.

Speaking of blow out, my air conditioning decided to get crazy on me this weekend. I've been sweating up a storm for two days straight now. Luckily the temperatures have been more in the 80s/low to mid-90s and not hotter like it has been lately. Its also been a bit more overcast making the heat more bearable. Must get the AC fixed as soon as possible.

Well, we're going on our 16th straight day of temps over 90 degrees. Forecasters are saying it will continue and probably hit 100 on Friday. Oh, joy. :whew:
24, what's the latest on that air conditioner?

It was fixed today. :happyclap:

Now I can actually get some sleep. Trying to sleep when its 80/90+ degrees is very difficult.

Hi everybody!

I'm at my aunt's house in Connecticut. Little family gathering with cousins and the sort. I've been dying to log on but my cousin's wireless wasn't working right. He finally got it working. *whew* At this moment, they're all playing a little canasta and some mah jong. Two tables going and I'm in the corner somewhere playing my gladiatus and saying hello to you all.

It's really hot here, amazingly hot. This afternoon we were at the casino in Foxwoods playing a few slots and betting a little on the roulette wheel. It's a family thing this "gambling" itch. We're all so competetive against each other. Well, I better get going. The family is going to get suspicious. ;)
Talk to you all soon.

Hey Big Boss, good to see you around. Man I miss the chats. Can we all chat sometime? I'll make time for it, I promise. Well, I got Monday off due to the typhoon. Yay!! Spent most of it sleeping, but was able to manage to get a date and see the new Batman movie. Wow, I was really blown away. I think it might even be better than Batman Begins. Maybe. I'll have to see it again to be certain. This should be a great summer for movies. Hellboy II apparently doesn't come out in Taiwan until September, and X-Files will be out this week.
Adon and I decided this next weekend should be the housewarming party. So he's on the hunt for lamb and pork ribs. I'll be making a trip to Costco and we should have a good crowd. I'll get pictures.

24, glad to hear your AC got fixed in a timely manner. Intrepid, have a great time with the cousins. I'll talk to you all again soon.

I was on the phone with a client from California about an hour and 1/2 ago and he said he had to get off the phone because they were having an earthquake. That was definitely a first.

Sounds like you are having fun. :D

Guess what movie I am going to watch soon? I'll give you a hint... It has three dancing/singing chipmunks in it! :wow:

I have the movie on DVD, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I read about the earthquake a little while ago. That's definitely interesting that you were on the phone with someone who was in the middle of the quake.

The article I read said there were no serious injuries or damage.

The Dark Knight is definately worth seeing. I've seen it twice already. Amazing film. I could't fault Heath Ledger's take on The Joker. Such a shame he died.

Really looking forward to The X Files movie too. It's out here on friday. I have recently got into the TV show again and it's brilliant. Can't wait to see Billy Connelly in the film. He's one of my favourite comedians. Such a brilliant stand-up. Check him out if you can, there are lenty of clips on Youtube, but be warned! They're usually full of colourful language.

The Dark Knight has gotten great reviews. I have yet to see one bad one. Not sure when I will be able to see it. Probably when it comes out on DVD.

I'm looking forward to the X-Files movie too. The reviews for that movie have been mixed.
