I will be seeing them tomorrow. They don't want to leave their house unattended at this point in time, so we are getting together for Mother's Day over there. I will find out what precautions they are taking then. I do know they are getting a security system put in. |

I recall you saying that once. It's Captain Pineapple who is the sheep herder. What's up Big Boss? |

I've never tried goat. Have no plans to. I have eaten Feta cheese. That is good. I had Iron Chef America on my mind when I typed that. He gets to a point at the beginning where he is telling the two competitor chefs what the secret ingredient is that they will be cooking with. He's very dramatic about it. Its kind of funny. |

I had a little visit from the Jehovah’s Witnesses just a little while ago. I was cleaning carpet when I saw them pull up. Unfamiliar car, full of people… I thought, yep has to be someone trying to convert me. So I went and put on a bra ( ) and then to the door. I let the lady read me a passage from Revelations and she asked me about the suffering in the world and if I ever thought it was going to end. I talked with her a minute or two. She then asked if I was busy (she was going to ask to come in), I said I was cleaning carpets. She asked if she could come back. I asked her what religion was she with. When she said JW (I had already suspected this), I told her nicely that while I believe in God, I wasn’t interested in that path. Thanks for stopping by though. What was funny, was that I had “Strawberry Shortcake” blaring on the TV while she was reading the Bible to me at the front door. I forgot to turn the TV down before going to the door. ![]() Well, back to cleaning carpets...

Cleaning carpets. Not fun 24. How long is that going to take you? It takes me forever. I particulary love doing the steps. /end sarcasm. In recent years, I found that putting a scoop of Oxy-Clean in the water resevoir helps tremendously when cleaning the carpets. Right now I'm having one of those lazy days where I don't feel like doing a thing.... just can't motivate myself to move today. Oh well.... |

I'm finished. It didn't take long. I just needed to do a few high traffic areas. I usually use the Hoover Deep Cleansing solution and a touch Clorox to kill bacteria. Have to be careful with the Clorox though, as I don't want to bleach the carpet. I used an OxiClean product once a long time ago. One for the laundry. I didn't like it. Maybe it just works better on carpets. I'm finished cleaning for the day. |

Man, you just gotta love those Jehovah's Witnesses. I remember as a kid that they once dropped by our house 10 miles out in the country ... situated right next to the church where my father was pastor. Did they really honestly think they were going ot convert us???? Lately when they knock on my door, I just tell them that Jesus himself did a fine enough job of saving me first some 2000 years ago and thanks for dropping by, then I close and lock the door. I don't like to be rude, but if you aren't, they'll stand there forever trying to talk to you. Anyway, I'm off today to take my mom out for a day drive into Rocky Mountain National Park. Really pretty spring day here, and we're in for a stretch of about 4 or 5 fine sunny days. Time to get out and break the cabin fever. |

Luckily they don't visit me very often. None of them have ever been rude, so I try to be nice when getting rid of them. I do let them know up front that I'm not interested in being a JW. They don't push it too much. Good idea! Especially with what you have coming up this week. The weather has been pretty nice here today. |

Yeah, I'd better get some fresh air and sunshine before I get laid up for a bit. Check out the Blogosphere for a couple of snapshots from today's trip. Ironically, the last weather forecast I heard indicated that we'd have warm sunny weather through Wednesday, and then Thursday (the day of surgery) and Friday would probably turn cool and rainy again. Nice timing! And we really do need the rain. |

FYI: I just ran all of the Resource Links images through an Image Optimizer and reduced the file size significantly. The page/images should load anywhere from 60 - 85% faster than before. |

Sorry for disappearing on y'all last night (not sure if you noticed ), but a bad thunder/lightening storm knocked out my phone line last night. Couldn't get online or vote for the final American Idol. My phone should be fixed by tonight. I hope so. Talk about major withdrawal symptoms not being able to access the Internet for one evening.
