I really got addicted to that Gladiatus game. I finally figured out that I can log off during the waiting periods and it keeps going like I'm playing. So I don't have to spend very long playing at any given time. I can set something in motion and walk away. I can even "work" for 8 hours (literally) in the game by setting that up and logging off. Eight hours later, I've earned a pile of gold to go buy some armor or weapons with. I'm up to level 6 now and have battled my rank from a start in the 5,400's up to 3,787 currently. It's going to take a long time before I get a shot at #1, if I ever get there. Much of the fun though is in the shopping. How would have known? There's a constant trading in of old equipment for better equipment and buying "training" that builds strength, skill, agility, etc. Players literally post their old equipment on the market and set the price for other players to buy it. There is a nice variety to the game which is probably what keeps me in there even though it's slow paced. Thanks to anyone who helped me by allowing themselves to get mugged via the link I had. I posted it at another site as well and successfully mugged 10 people in all - one of which was me. It's one mugging per IP address excluding my own, but I was able to mug myself anyway from my work computer.

I hear that the Appalachian Trail's southern terminus is in Georgia (not too far from Florida) and goes through some gorgeous mountains. You can hike all the way to Maine on it if you're feeling adventurous. |

I actually got banned today. They don't like dual accounts. On the first day, I had started with one account and decided that I didn't like the name I chose. I marked that account to be deleted and I started a different account - new name, new e-mail. Since I marked one for deletion, I didn't think it would be a dual account. It seems they noticed the same IP address on 2 accounts today. I've been trying to straighten it out all day.

People of KOT! How are you all? Can you believe it's a whopping 75F today? It's a good day to paint. But I've been busy today. Cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, did some laundry, mopped the floors and I'm about ready to make dinner and maybe do some lawn work when the sun goes down a little. If I have some time left I'll try that game IE is playing. Do I get to mug somebody?
Where do you find the time?

Yep. Just put your link out there and mug away. I'll even let you mug me if you'd like. ![]() I think you just wanted to use that smiley. Edit: I just realized that you might have been talking about something else that I was somewhat busy with too today (on another site). I didn't really spend all that much time on THAT though. Believe it or not, it was a busy work day too.

I did finally get it straightened out. They gave no explanation though. Just "you're account is enabled again - have fun". I had asked if there was something wrong with what I did. Beyond that I asked them to delete that first account. No reply about whether I should have done something differently. I'm taking that as they don't want to admit they screwed up. It's as good an explanation as any when there isn't one!

TribbleMom, Sorry, I missed this when I was here earlier. Thanks for the information. I was pretty sure Georgia was my closest best bet. Thanks for confirming that! I have been on the Appalachian Trail in both New Hampshire and Maine in the past. Most of my hiking was in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. But my favorite mountain was Mt. Katahdin in Maine.

By the way, if you (or anyone else) do decide to try the game, read this "manual" first. I couldn't find this when I first started playing and there are many things it would have been nice to know in the beginning. Also, I suggest building your strength, skill, etc. and equipment (armor, weapons, etc.) for awhile first before you start fighting in the arena. If you do, you'll find a lot of weaker players ranked above you for awhile and it makes it easier to move up in the ranks for awhile. I'm now on level 7 and I still occasionally see people as low as level 2 ranked above me. More commonly I see people at levels 3, 4, and 5. You can build those things by accepting quests and going on expeditions. |

So I'm sitting here like a hockey puck trying to play Gladiatus and working in the stable for some compensation of some kind. I'm learning, I'm learning how to play the game. Still a little confused but probably in a few I'll be begging for you guys to mug me. Or is it the other way around. Had trouble activating my account. But I think I'm good now. Oooops. I think my hour in the stable is up. BRB.

More detailed explanation please. I can't sit in front of my computer for one hour even. I need to amass a fortune. Can't even get into the arena. Must be my shoes.

Intrepid, Welcome to Gladiatus! It does take a little while to figure out how it all works. You can put your mugging link up anytime. You can find it in your Overview section. Set it up like you would a link to a website and then you just need other people to click it. By the way, the game starts out a little slowly at first because you have nothing in the beginning and have to build up. But working in the stable, expeditions, quests, and fights in the arena all bring you experience points. When those add up to 100, you move up a level. At higher levels, you start to earn more money. At level 4, for example, you earn 80 per hour in the stable. At level 7, you earn 160 per hour in the stable. After that, I don't know because I haven't gotten past level 7 yet. Likewise, the quests and expeditions bring more money too. Of course, equipment and training also cost more as you move up levels, but you can resell your old stuff so that helps. You also can win objects and, if you don't need them, sell them for money in the market. Once you start to get more money, you can even look for things that other people sell for ridiculously low amounts in the market and buy them just to sell them back for more money. You will generally get more money for your old goods in the market than by selling them back to the merchants in the game. Also, if you haven't figured this out yet, when you're not going to play anymore, set your character to work in the stable for as long as you will be away up to the max 8 hours. That way, you will earn money even while logged off. Oh, by the way, you can buy and sell items while waiting for those time clocks to tick away. You can't do much else though. |

^^^^ Okay, got it. Set it to 8 hours instead of 1. I can literally log off the site or do I just leave my computer on? Yeah, I noticed I can't do much in the beginning. I'm beginning to think I'll forever be a muckboy. For the quests, what is it I'm supposed to look for? |

You can log off and shut your computer down. It all happens on their server.
For the quests, you go to the Tavern and pick Easy, Medium, or Hard. Then the guy there will tell you what to look for. You find most things by going on expeditions. A few others he'll say something like "talk to the man at the arena" so then you go to the arena for that one. Most of the time, it doesn't matter what expedition you pick, but a few do. If you're told to kill a bandit, then go to the bandit camp. If you're supposed to find a wolf's tooth, then go to the wolf cave. Most of the time, it will make sense like that and if the item doesn't seem to match the names of the expedition places then you can go to any. Check the guide I linked above. It mentions a bunch of specific items/characters and where to find them too. You don't really have to look for things on the expeditions. You'll either get the item automatically or just try again until you do. |

Well, I'm off to Lowe's. We had a plumber here yesterday trying to fix our leaky kitchen faucet, but he said we need a new one. Well, I couldn't fix the faucet because I couldn't figure out how to get it off, but now that the plumber got it off and left it off I can install a new one. So we bought one this morning and I'm in the middle of installing it. However, the pipe attached to the new faucet for the cold water is about an inch too short to reach where it connects to the water line. So I have to go back to Lowe's to get an extender. This has been fix the house month. Is it next month yet...?
