I just can't get over Zelda. That kitty has personality. It's a little cold here in Pittsburgh. We seem to keep escaping the snow. There are snowstorms to the north, west and east of us. We got nothing. Not even an inch. I'm starting to feel neglected. |

Yes, Zelda is a darling! Intrepid, I thought of you earlier when I saw the football game on TV, and they said it was snowing there. Apparently you aren't near the stadium. Nice new avatar, BTW. |

Tribblemom, Wasn't that football game horrendous? The Steelers are losing their mojo. Actually, I don't work far from the stadium and it did snow but not even enough to shovel it off your driveway. In fact, to tell you the truth, we haven't had a really good one footer in a long time now. I'd say three years maybe. |

We haven't gotten any snow at all this season. The temperature was cold, then warm, and now it is cold again. -Zelda I like your new avatar Intrepid. Very Christmasy. :tree: When will we know who is in the Super Bowl? We can then get a poll going to predict the winner.

We were in line waiting for my daughter (who is now already 6 by the way ) to talk to Santa last weekend when my daughter says about a boy in line who was being a little unruly "If that boy doesn't stop it, he's going to have coal on Christmas!"

I highly suspect that IE's little one will figure out Christmas well before her time. In fact, I think she'll have her father going for quite a while. What is the hot item for little girls these days? |

Yes it is. I'm wondering how long it will last from here. She already questioned how Santa can possibly be at every mall.

Figure out Christmas? Is there something to figure out?
For my little girl it's anything to do with the Disney movie, High School Musical. She has been watching at least part of High School Musical or High School Musical 2 daily since about the middle of last summer. Her school backpack has Troy Bolton (Zac Effron) on it and her birthday party theme this year was High School Musical. Her favorite toy that she got for her birthday is a Gabriella doll from High School Musical. She got some other High School Musical toys too. And, of course, that's not enough. For Christmas she wants more from High School Musical toys/clothes/purse. ![]() |

How old is your daughter again Mel? I'm just curious because I was very skeptical when my daughter wanted to see High School Musical the first time. I didn't know what it was about and I thought "what could there be for my 6 year old daughter (actually she wasn't even 6 yet then) in a story set in high school?" So I actually watched it before she did so I could make sure it was ok. Even so, since it is about high school kids and even has a romance, it's still somewhat surprising to me that she is so taken by it. I think a lot of it is because of the music. |

My niece is 13 and she absolutely loves High School Musical. I thought the movie was targeted for the pre-teeners but I guess the little ones like it too. I'm going to have to watch HSM I and II from beginning to end. There's been a lot of buzz about the two leading actors. My niece also likes Guitar Hero. I think that and IPods are the big thing for teenagers. |

Intrepid, 13 makes more sense to me and I think the pre-teen audience target is probably accurate. That's why I don't know what's gotten into my daughter! ![]() As for the movies, HSM1 was well done IMO. HSM2 wasn't nearly as good and seemed to be little more than an attempt to do the same general pattern as HSM1 again. As an example, HSM1 has a song and dance at the very end that makes sense as a celebration. I won't say anymore so I don't spoil it, but HSM2 has a song and dance at the end too that seemed to be just tossed in there for no good reason. The movie would have concluded better at an earlier point without it. I believe they put it in there simply because they were trying to follow the highly successful HSM1 formula. That's my take on it anyway. My daughter, on the other hand, likes HSM2 better. ![]() I'm not familiar with Guitar Hero. |

I haven't seen HSM I or II. I have seen a little bit of Hannah Montana. Not sure why she is so popular. She seems fake to me. Intrepid, I have heard buzz too about two of the leads dating and then breaking up. One girl, Vanessa Hudgens was a part of a controversy recently when nude photos of her taken in private were leaked onto the Internet. Supposedly she doesn't know how they were leaked. I think she leaked them herself to rocket launch her career now that she is 18 years old. Or 19 years old now. |

24, I'm sorry. I have to cover Zelda when I'm reading your posts. She's too distracting. She's so d@mned cute! Okay... you were saying? I heard Hannah Montana concert tickets were some of the hardest ones to get and very, very expensive. What I do know is that her father is Billy Ray Cyrus (remember him?) and that he's on the show. |

The thing about Hannah Montana that appeals to the young girls is that the main character, Miley Stewart, gets to lead a double life as a pop superstar and still live a normal life in school. It's a bit unrealistic, but it's fun for them. I even catch myself watching it with her often and liking it. IE, My daughter just turned 11.

Nice festive avatar, IE. Your daughter would like it, I'll bet. As for how Santa can be in all those malls at the same time, well, that's the magic of Christmas. Santa can do just about anything. |
