Greetings again, KOT folks.

Our weekend guest has left for a 2-month stint as a seasonal ranger at Arches National Park. Sounds like a really cool thing to do. She's semi-retired, so working a few short-term jobs is agreeable with her present schedule. Sounds like a great way to see some a variety of places. Kind of wish I could do that. But I still need my regular full-time paycheck too much.

As I am still trying to recover my energy after that bout with the flu bug, I decided to stay home today (we actually had the holiday off from work!) and watch some of the Voyager DVDs that have been sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to get around to them. I'd kind of forgotten how much I enjoyed that series. Intrepid, I hope that you didn;t catch the same bug I had ... it was a mean one.

Anyone having any traditional Labor Day barbecues today?

Good evening TribbleMom! :hello:

Glad you had a nice visit with your friend.

I didn't have a traditional BBQ today. We (family) got together for a birthday celebration this past weekend, so BBQing today would have been overkill.

I ended up eating ravioli and watching several episodes of Murder, She Wrote. :D The Hallmark channel was having a marathon today.

Hiya Tribblemom.... hope you're feeling better. I've had a irritating headache since yesterday. I threw up a couple of times. Couldn't keep anything down and was a little dizzy. If I didn't know better, I'd say I had morning sickness.

BUT I KNOW BETTER!!!! ;)

I went over to see the family and left when I started to feel more tired than I usually am. Didn't want to kiss the babies or anything so I left early and now I think I'll play catch up with the sleep.

Hope you all had a nice holiday to relax and just lay back.

Ok, I'm off to bed.

That will happen from time to time. Especially at a site where there is such a small active membership. I however appreciate and enjoy the company of those that think spending time interacting here is still worth the effort.

I personally can only reply to and start so many threads before it looks like I am talking to myself. So I hang back sometimes and wait for others to post (as real life/time permits them to). Last night I didn’t post because I wasn’t feeling well and just decided to go to bed early.

I have made efforts to attract new members, but it is a slow going process. People are hesitant to leave bigger communities to spend time at smaller communities.

I understand. My board is bigger than this one(in terms of numbers) and this one is busier. I guess I should make more of an effort to post more at mine. Except after this week I won't have much time.

College registration is in less than an hour!

This is my sanctuary.

For having no family, I feel like I'm constantly on the "go". I've been good this summer spending time with family but soon I'll be working constantly. I need to be on the edge and work to the point of physical exhaustion.

It's sick, isn't it? I should get a hobby.

The scary thing is, I actually know the words to "Tumbling Tumbleweeds." So now I've got that song rolling around in my head. (You just can't live in Colorado without being exposed to the cowboy culture at some point). *Dons cowboy hat and boots* - hey, they still fit!

Sorry about not helping to keep the tumbleweeds from rolling through recently. Sometimes real life gets in the way.

24 and Intrepid, I hope that bug is about gone for you both now. Really, I tried to keep it to myself and not pass it through cyber space. I know how you both feel, so you have my sympathies.

Mel, have your classes started now? Hope you do well in them.

Registration was yesterday. :)

Today is officially my first day of school, although they don't start teaching until Monday. We're going to the beach today.

Gotta run, I need to finish getting ready. :)
