Well, the typhoon wasn't much to write home about. I've seen better storms in Nebraska. Although I understand that this one is relatively small. I slept through most of it, but I don't see any trees or powerlines on the ground this morning. I'll be here for a while, I'm sure I'll get to see a good one sometime, and maybe get a holiday out of it!

I saw that video as I was surfing the cable channels. I had to look twice to make sure that was William Shatner. Sirus.... I experienced a couple of those typhoons when we lived overseas. They're pretty intense. If I remember correctly, the rainy season went well into September. Hunker down and enjoy the time off. I'm sure classes will be cancelled. Tribblemom.....It was abnormally humid here in Pittsburgh today. We had a lot of respiratory cases in the ER today. This weather is not good for those who has asthma or even the elderly. It's not intensely hot but the humidity is making it extremely uncomfortable. I'd say we got up to around 92F. Supposedly the New York/ Philadelphia area is supposed to hit 105F BTW... just checked the weather channel and they were talking about the big typhoon that is supposed to hit Taiwan in the next 48 hours or so. It doesn't look pretty. Keep safe Sirus. |

^^^ 24, That's Evangeline Lily of LOST fame. She's KATE, the girl who has both the bad boy hunk and dreamy doctor as her love interests. And you thought LOST was about manipulated magnetic polarization, mystic creatures, the island's healing qualities and the OTHERS? Nah, it's basically a prime time soap opera. She loves him but she loves him. Thanks for asking about the niece 24. She's coming home for a week before she starts her senior year of college. Being away from home and the ex-boyfriend was the best thing for her. She seems to be getting back to her old self but is not completely over the guy who dumped her for another girl. Poor thing. My heart aches for her. Don't know what we would have done if we lost her. She's definitely not 100% but we'll see. Her coming home inspired a road trip. All the nieces and nephews want to take a final road trip (thanks Tribblemom for planting the seed. I'm a regular day tripper now) before the school year starts so I'm borrowing the sister's minivan and I'm taking a bunch of kids to the beach. Where's the cut off line? If you wear diapers, you can't go. Besides, if they're still in diapers, they won't be mad at me for not taking them to the beach or won't hold a grudge. Sometimes I like hanging out with the kids more than I do their parents. |

I always knew Intrepid was the cool aunt all the kids want to hang out with. Good to hear your niece is doing better, Intrepid. I know how hard is to heal a broken heart. I'm still kind of on the mend myself. Every now and then I'll hear a love song, and think about the good times with the ex-wife. I saw her for a few hours a couple weeks ago when I was back in the states, and I don't think I'll ever stop loving her. Anyway, how the hell is everyone? It's my cousin John's birthday this weekend, so we're having another barbecue which just might get out of control again. And yes, I'll take some pictures. |

You know I have to ask this...... Was he cute? About the aunt thing, I'm the youngest sibling so some of these nieces and nephews I've known since I was 12! I always got stuck with them at the kiddie table at family gatherings as I got kicked off the dinner table when my brothers-in-law started joining the family. Besides, I don't forsee myself having kids in the future. Can't find an appropriate sperm donor. Oh just kidding. Sirus, how was the typhoon? |

Well..... I did get my good looks from him! Of course I mean my dad. I don't have any nieces or nephews. And it doesn't seem that I ever will. One sibling and she doesn't want children. Ah well. |

What's up Mikey!!! Great to talk to you again. It's been too long. The typhoon didn't amount to much. Just some wind and rain. Although there were a couple of trees on the bike path that cracked under the pressure. Taiwan has seen much worse from what I hear. I actually have gone riding the last few days, and the weather wasn't too bad other than some intermittant rain and high wind. I actually came pretty close to a lightning strike one day. The thunder came almost immediately after I saw the flash, probably about 100 feet away or so, but I swear I felt a small jolt on my bike. It scared me enough to take cover until the worst of the storm passed. I know I know, I keep promising pictures. I've been pretty busy getting back on schedule and haven't spent much time on the computer, but I'll work on it. Hope you all are keeping cool during the last bit of summer. August is usually the worst I think. Talk to you all again soon! Sirus |

I don't foresee myself having kids either. However, I guess stranger things have happened... (i.e. never say never ).I don't have any nieces and nephews. I did used to get stuck at the kid's table though at big family gatherings because I am the younger sibling and the youngest cousin in the family. |
