I am fine. Yesterday I spent a bit too much time on the Net so today I refocused and was able to get a lot done today. I also spent a little time reflecting and setting a few goals for the coming months. The weather has been quite pleasant today in my neck of the woods. I spent a little time outside just a while ago myself. Hope your day has gone well. Intrepid, Was the cable guy cute? That's all that matters.
Mfive, Belated good morning. Hope your day goes well. Since it is still early afternoon on the West Coast.

I am absolutely pooped! I spent all day walking and shopping(mostly window shopping but I did buy a few things.) I haven't stopped since noon today and it's now 7:30. I'm pretty sure my face has developed a slight sunburn today. So there you have it. We do get weather OTHER than snowstorms here. ![]() It was about 20 Celsius today.(68 degree Fahrenheit) |

Cool, you'll sleep like a log tonight. ![]() I hear mayonnaise is good for sunburns.
J/k Some kind of Aloe Vera gel will work if you have it.

Well, so far so good. I'm a little pink, but it's not sore or anything. One thing's for certain, I really enjoyed my day today. I love the Sun.

I don’t mind moderate/warm weather. We get some pretty hot temperatures during summer months. Those I can do without. It must feel like you are busting out when you finally get warm weather after having so many months of snow. ![]() |

What are you guys up to? It wasn't all that warm today. Sunny but not too warm. I accomplished nothing today. Cleaned a little but that's it. I might watch "The Prestige" in a little bit. |

Howdy, folks, I'm back ... I believe Intrepid requested that I bring donuts upon my return, so ... I'm happy to be home again (I'm a real homebody), and it was an interesting but taxing trip. Thursday morning saw the Continental Divide enshrouded in a spring snowstorm complete with icy roads, blowing snow, and howling winds . Some places I had to slow to only 25 MPH on the interstate. Today's drive home was an entirely different season (roads were bone dry). I did get to luxuriate in the mineral hot spring pool again, very necessary after a tough day at work. My task this trip was to help that particular department clean up some discrepancies in their inventory, which involves a good deal of "detective" work. My brain feels like scrambled eggs. This weekend is a busy one. Tomorrow is the much-anticipated convention where I expect to see Leonard Nimoy. I'm sure he'll be pleased to know that Mfive says hi. Must try to control myself in the dealer's room ... Star Trek memorabilia heaven! I'll take my camera, so hopefully I can post a link to a picture afterwards.Sunday morning I am celebrating Earth Day by helping one of the local Sierra Club chapters plant trees, and will do so again next Saturday to commemmorate Arbor Day (with a different Sierra Club chapter group). Say, Mel, remember to use that sunscreen lotion. |

It's sad when you look at the cable guy and he actually looks too young for you. At the rate I'm going, I'm going to have to look in assisted living homes to find a boyfriend.

Welcome back Tribblemom! I'm glad I got to the doughnuts before everybody else did. How often do you go on these sojourns to find "discrepancies" in inventory. Is that kind of like an audit? Well, I hope everything that was misplaced was found.Have fun at the convention. I haven't been to one in a very long time. A long time ago Creation used to have conventions in Pittsburgh. Way back then it was $10 to get in. You're right, the dealer room is like heaven. I was always more interested in Star Trek jewelry and collecting patches. I hope that crazy weather isn't coming this way. |

I usually don't have to physically go somewhere to help find inventory discrepancies, and it is much like an audit. A lot of times I can coach my fellow-workers over the phone on how to track down problems. However, this was a special situation. That particular warehouse is closing down soon and will be consolidating their work into my warehouse location. (Oh, goodie ... tons more work for me.) So this warehouse needed to clean up a lot of troublesome areas before the closure takes place, and the bosses agreed it would be easier for me to help with the clean-up if I was actually there to investigate files and reconcile the computer inventory to what can physically be accounted for. Part of the problem stems from some recent turn-over in personnel. The person who had been steadily working that position left in January. A temp agency provided someone to help (whom I went there to train in February), but their unfamiliarity with warehousing and inventory procedures actually created a number of problems, and that person was let go after only 2 weeks. Then someone else was hired, trained on-site by the manager in the first couple of steps in our processes, and then I went to train him in the rest of the procedures in early March. Then came the news that that particular site would be closing by this June. So the poor guy really was only just getting his feet wet and learning the ins and outs when he was told that his job would come to an end. Meanwhile, he had not yet gained enough experience to be able to back-track inventory problems and figure out why they happened and what to do to fix them. So I went to work with him for 2 days so that we could talk with each other and figure out what created these discrepancies. We got a lot done, but there's still some follow-up work I need to do. Gee, this almost sounds like it should be in the soapbox tread. Anyway, I'm just about to don my TOS delta-shield earrings and beam over to the convention now, where thankfully I will be able to forget about work for a while. |

Since we didn't have a Conventions thread, I split TM/Mfive/my recent comments off and created a thread in the Star Trek forum. That way it doesn't get buried in this thread.
Good evening everyone! ![]() I ate a really good brownie today. Big chunks of chocolate throughout. How did your tree planting go today, TribbleMom? |
