I did not know that about Nimoy. I don't think I would have liked the dual role, but I suppose it would have come down to how well the performance was. |

I honestly think that it still wouldn't have been a very good movie even if Nimoy had done a dual role... |

I think Nimoy should be grateful he dodged a bullet by not doing a dual role in STV. How would they have explained him basically being Spock's twin? Folks may lament a lot about STV (though there are some very good moments in it), but that might have been the worst thing they could do. |

In my opinion, the only disappointing thing about "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" was the ending, which could have been much better. I thought that Laurence Luckinbill was excellent as "Sybok," and i seriously doubt the film would have been any better, or more fondly remembered, with Leonard Nimoy playing the role. |

There is a lot I like about STV. The biggest problem, unfortunately, is Shatner as director. He has a well deserved reputation for an ego the size of Texas. There are also some really bad technical flaws, especially in the editing. Case in point, the oft mentioned rocket boots in the turbo lift shaft. There they pass the same decks more than once and, a big no-no on any ship, the numbers get higher as you go up. On a vessel the numbers get higher as you go down. |
