Hey Goliath, I took care of your accidental double post. Unfortunately, it was in the middle of one of your edits and your other comments got deleted. I agree with what you said though.

We need more people and more Cowbell. :D

I agree with Frimp that it would be nice to have a few more people regularly posting on this site.
We seem to have guests looking around all the time but unfortunately most don't want to sign up.
It's a shame but there are a number of sites and only so many people who want to spend their time posting.
I guess we can only be patient and hope guests who visit us like what they see here and decide to join in. :D

Thankyou very much for sorting that out 24. I'm not quite sure how the double post happened but it definately wasn't intentional. Unfortunately i now seem to have a phantom post. I know i've written 28 but my post count says 29. :headscratch:

^^ Yeah that is weird. I just went in and counted your posts, and you should have 28. The system must have not adjusted to the deletion that I did. No problems, I went in and adjusted your post count by one for you so that it will be correct now.

Thanks again 24. I've no desire to 'cheat' my way to greatness. LOL
I'm very happy to get there without assistance from the system. :D

I agree it would be nice to have more people having a say on this site. We seem to have guests looking around all the time but alas most don't want to sign-up. It's a shame but there are a number of sites and only so many people who want to spend their time posting. I guess we can only be patient and hope more people like what they see here and want to join in.
More often than not, the "guests" are actually adbots and not real people. It's a common thing on Zathyus boards.

As far as cowbell, that joke is so old now to Blue Oyster Cult fans, but even the members of the band joke back on it. For a while after that skit aired, they had the guy who plays the cowbell on "Reaper" behind the amps come out front to do his part. The funniest part of it all, Will Farrell as "Gene Frenkel" looks more like Eric Bloom than they guy playing Eric in the skit!

Re: "Adbots"

This explains why very few people sign up despite the number of "guests" who seem to visit this site.
I must say i'm having a great time here anyway, even though we have so few regular posters. :highfive:

Board admins can check the IP address of "guests" and many times they can be traced back to internet advertising companies. After a while you get to recognize certain ones on sight and know they're not real people. My own board is on InvisionFree, which is part of Zathyus Networks like Zetaboards which KOT is on, and gets adbot "guests" all the time.

I'm glad that you know about such things starbase63 as until very recently i had no idea about "adbots" and their appearance as "guests" here and on other sites. Thankyou very much for informing me as i'd never have known otherwise and would have continued to wrongly believe that all of our "guests" are real people looking around. :handshake:

Here a video (not mine) from a couple years ago with the current lineup of the band doing "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" at Bally's in Atlantic City...one of the heads in the way keeps you from being able to see Buck Dharma for most of the song, but the sound quality is decent. Watch Eric Bloom at the beginning playing Air Cowbell.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0oyCm0UPnY

BOC these days is Eric Bloom, Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, Richie Castellano, Jules Radino and Rudy Sarzo.

^^ Needs more cow bell. ;)

I listened to one recording of them performing it from 70s/80s and you could barely hear the cow bell. I think they have been adding more over the years? LOL.

The problem with that song though is that it stays in your head for hours after you listen to it. So thanks. ;-P

Yeah, the SNL skit did lead to the cowbell being more prominent when they perform the song...

A little over a week ago, Eric, Buck, Richie and Jules played "Reaper" acoustic at the NAMM show in Anaheim and Jules played cowbell instead of drum...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yabsZzaj7rY

It's strange to hear when they play the song in the album key live, it's pretty rare.

I love that. I"m surprised it's still on youtube though. SNL is usually pretty fast at getting stuff taken down.

There'd be people putting it back up as fast as it was being taken down if they did...

I think that song sounds way better when they have all the instrumentals going on. Didn't have the same oomp to it acoustic.
