Daylight Savings Time; Time to change the clocks!

Its that time of the year again to turn your clocks back one hour for many in the Northern Hemisphere (Nov. 6th).

KOT's clock is set to EST for those not in that timezone. I will turn the clock back an hour tomorrow so don't forget to update your board clock settings as well.

I'm beginning to think DST observance should just be abolished all together.

Arizona (except some Indian Reservations), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa don't even observe DST.

We supposedly observe it to save energy and to have longer days (where daylight is available).

I don't know if any real comparisons have been done to prove this.

I set all 307 clocks in my house back. Just kidding of course, but it did seem like that. :D In all seriousness it was somewhere around 20.

Geez IE, what kinda ship are you running in your household? I only had to change two clocks, my alarm clock and the clock on my dashboard in my car. I somehow feel inadequate now.....

It's all the electronics mostly. Our oven, microwave, and coffee maker each have a clock. They are digital so we also added a clock with hands in our kitchen to help my daughter learn to tell time that way too. In the family room we have 2 table top clocks that were gifts and one DVD player that doesn't change the time automatically. Most other rooms have at least one clock. Then we have a light timer that we always leave running so the lights go on and off in the front room at the same times whether we are home or not. There is also a timer with our water sprinkler. And then, there are the watches and the car clock.

We didn't have as many to change, but it sure felt like that when I was younger. My mom collected clocks, so we had lots of them to change ;) Mom gave us each a room and we would do them that way
