Ha! I just noticed that. American Idol was a Coke sponsor. LOL. So is the show any good? |

It hasn't started up quite yet. It will premiere in September. I thought the Coke vs. Pepsi thing was pretty funny too. |

I plan on trying to watch the premiere tomorrow night. It will be interesting how it does compared to "American Idol". |

In some ways, it will be kind of familiar with both Paula and Simon judging the competition.... but still different. |

It will be new to me because I didn't start watching "Idol" until this past winter. It will be interesting to see how Paula Abdul & Simon Cowell interact with each other. Hopefully Simon won't be as harsh on this show as I've heard that he was whenever he was on "Idol". That would be a really big turn off for me. |

^^ Hey Dewleaf, how has life been treating you? Tonight is the night! Simon has mellowed over the years. Hopefully his brand of harshness will be bearable. I always had more problems with Paula. She can be too dopey and ooey gooey. To the point of favoritism. That got her into some trouble on AI. She has also had some issues with medications she takes (or took). They caused her behavior to be somewhat questionable at times. So who knows what Paula we will get this go around. LOL. |

Wow, that 13 year old girl (Rachel Crow) got up there and knocked it out of the park! …. And look at that crowd! Its huge! She’s so cute! I want her to win. Siamese was good showman, but a terrible singer. I thought he was going to pull something. And you know all the judges were thinking… WTF?? Dan and Venita were a hoot. I was wondering where that big hook was that they used to use on the old variety shows. LOL. Linda O. (lady in red) was horror movie scary. I liked Stacey Francis. If she doesn’t win the competition, I still hope she gains something. Not to mention a big middle finger to the guy who did her wrong. 42 is not too old!! You go girl! The “stud” who dropped his pants should have been yanked off the stage and arrested for indecent exposure as soon as he exposed himself. I liked Marcus. Had a lot of talent. I really didn’t think The Anser or the last guy was as great as the judges thought, but we’ll see. Simon and L.A. Reid are going to be an interesting dynamic. I like that they are both experienced in the business. Paula seems to be doing fine so far. Minus he getting sick from the singing pervert. I'm glad they switched Cheryl Cole out and added Nicole. Cheryl seemed out of her element and offered very little to the panel. Overall, I really like this new show.

Has anyone here watched "The X Factor" this season? Surprisingly, it has actually turned out to be a really good show. Plus, Simon Cowell has turned into a sweet, supportive judge. My daughter & I watch it every week & enjoy it very, very much. What do you guys think about the show? |

Hi Dewleaf, nice to see you here. I've only caught bits and pieces of the X-Factor. I'm a little fatigued on all the singing talent shows. But if you like it, I'm sure I will like it too....

"The X Factor" and "American Idol" are about the only reality shows that I care to watch these days. I personally think that they are a lot of fun to watch. How are you doing, Scooby? I'm doing pretty good. |

Have to admit, "X-Factor" hasn't really grabbed me either. Just comes off a sa glossier "Idol" to me, I expected something really great, but... I like the judges, but the talent didn't get my interest that much. And now to hear Nicole and Paula have been getting death threats for sending Drew home? Really? I would have thought that little ungrateful punk Astro's fans would have been doing that, not hers. The only time I disagreed with a judge this year was when L.A. Reid called Drew "unique"...when there's nothing unique about her. Maybe next season will be better...right now, I'm not thrilled by it. My friends in the UK have rarely had much good to say about their "X-Factor" over the last couple years... |

Saw an article that Simon might want to swap Scherezinger for Kelly Rowland from the UK version. |

I'm personally glad that both Drew & Astro went home last week. Sure, Astro can rap but, that is about all that he can do. Every time Drew opened her mouth to sing, I would cringe & leave the room until she was through singing. The contestants that I hope make the top three are Melania, Rachel & Josh. To me, Chris Rene & Marcus are "so so". I hope they are the ones that go home this week. The thing I like the best about this show is that the two bottom people get a chance to perform one last time in front of the judges before they vote someone off the show. These four people know a lot more about the music industry & what type of talent is most popular than the majority of the people voting each week. Other than that, this show doesn't seem to be that much different than "American Idol". I must admit that I found the early shows tiresome because there were so many contestants that had to be ruled out. Too bad a lot of that couldn't have been done off camera. |
