Matt Smith is definitely still the Doctor.

After you watch the premiere (Part one), please check out the "Impossible Astronaut" thread. :) Not before, or you will get spoilers.

I have to wait to watch this episode. Hubby has the remote and he's not a big Dr Who fan. :: sigh ::

Your mom doesn't like Star Trek or Doctor Who? She must not be much of a fan of Science Fiction.

It was a good second-part to last week's episode, but it didn't really answer a lot of questions. Or at least didn't feel like it did. It filled in the colors a bit, but there's still blank spots in the picture. I think the first two episode could have been made into a midseason two-hour special and worked better as bridge between seasons.

We know what "The Silence" from last season is now, but we don't know how they relate to the cracks in time. Is the Tardis that the Silence have the same one from "The Lodger" or a different ship? Is the Eleventh-Doctor still on track to die (dead-dead) midregeneration or has time been rewritten?

I know, terrible right? She doesn't know what she's missing out on! If my dad was still around he'd have control over what we watched! AND I'D BE ABLE TO WATCH IT! Oh well, her loss! :D :D :D

...or mine?!?!?! :'( :D

We know what "The Silence" from last season is now, but we don't know how they relate to the cracks in time.

I think maybe the cracks are just The Silence’s (the beings) form of travel to different places in time (sort of like an inter-dimensional wormhole). Once a crack is formed, it just gets bigger and consumes all that is around it. People also might fall into them and find themselves out of their own timeline or another species’ timeline (depending on what world the other place the wormhole was opened (by the Silence beings). Rory fell into a crack and landed in ancient Rome. Some of the Saturnyne fell into a crack and landed in Venice (“The Vampires of Venice”).

Amy is somehow able to remember the erased (by the crack) though when exposed to important items (e.g. engagement ring and River Song's diary). Amy seems key or important to the Silence and their plans on Earth.

The Silence (the beings) seem to be a weird force of beings. Traveling from planet to planet. Why? Are they there to conquer, consume resources, obtain fuel for their wormhole/crack travel (maybe people fuel the wormhole)?

I don't know, its all an interesting puzzle right now.

Or how about the girl at the end of the episode who began regeneration? She might be related to the Doctor (not just a new or old member of his race).
