http://omg.yahoo.com/news/syfy-greenlights-battlestar-galactica-prequel-pilot-following-a-young-adama/49430 I wonder what this means for "Caprica"? It just returned to the air for its new season, I haven't checked to see how it's performing. Still, the description of this possible series seems to be more action oriented than the current series has been. They will have to go a long way to find someone that can play the role of Bill Adama with as much charisma at Edward Olmos. |

There is a good chance that "Caprica" is going to be canceled after this season, so they probably won't have to worry about that show. But really, is the BSG franchise really in need of another show? Especially one based on William Adama? Based on the article, I would say they are trying to pull a young Jim Kirk ala "Star Trek". I don't think Adama is going to be a viewing draw like the younger years of Kirk though. |

I'm still following Caprica, but reaching a point where I'm having a hard time doing so. They're getting into a lot of business/political powerplaying and backstabbing (or occasionally through-the-heart stabbing), and that quickly loses its appeal for me. The V-world where the Chloe and Tamara avatars are could become more interesting, though. Hopefully we will see how they get those avatars back into the Toaster bodies or maybe how they obtain more human-looking form -- though they'll have to be very careful about that, because the human-looking Cylons weren't discovered for decades. As far as following a young William Adama fresh out of the Academy through a series of its own -- I'll give it a whirl. Sounds like plans are to have a 2-hour movie pilot to set the stage in the 10th year of the Cylon War and then take the series from there. Wars and battles usually make for good drama on TV. |

My "Caprica" is recording, but I'm not watching again yet.
I'll give the movie/show a shot, but I didn't get all jazzed up about the character on the occasions that I watched BSG. I'm not all that interested either based on the character in "Caprica". So, I don't know.... |

I guess we now know what Syfy intended to replace "Craprica" with. |
