I was watching a really whack movie on Syfy the other day that stared Erin Gray from "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century". I was curious about what else she had been in lately, so I checked out her BIO on IMdb. Turns out she and and Gil Gerard (the original Buck Rogers) are going to be in this new prequel as the parents of the new Lucas 'Buck' Rogers (portrayed by Bobby Rice). It appears to be a made for TV movie scheduled to come out this year. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1690109/ It could end up being good. ![]() |

Looked at the IMDB site and saw this link to the "Official" site... http://www.buckrogersbegins.com/ It does use the word "pilot" on the site. I am assuming it can't be anyworse than the Flash Gordon remake. |

Oh god, that show was bad. ![]() I hope Buck Rogers is much better than that. I checked out their forums, and they have a link to a teaser trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rvx6BBkxz4 |

Here's another link to a YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YY0-lSg3-k&NR=1 Looks like our new Buck is a young man wanting to get involved in (I'm guessing) what was about to become WWI, wanting to learn how to fly these new-fangled airplanes in combat. So I think they'll stick to the premise that a fighter pilot from earth somehow gets thrown about 5 centuries into the future. One of the things that made that original show work was the "fish out of water" element of Buck being displaced in time. Gil and Erin play a couple raising a family on a rural farm. Erin's real-life daughter also plays in the show as young Buck's girlfriend. |
