"The Event" premieres on NBC September 20th.

I am going to give this show a two episode chance. If it is has too much of a "FlashForward" feel, then I'm ditching it fast.

They are really trying to generate interest without giving away anything. The cast looks good, a lot of folks with experience on similar shows (especially Bill Smitrovich, good everyman quality for either a good guy or bad guy). Although, despite their best efforts I am not nearly as curious about this show as the promo efforts would like. In other words if I don't catch it at its kick off, then I am not likely to try to look for it and try to catch up with anything I might have missed. This is what kept from grabbing on to "Lost", "Flash Forward", "The 4400", or even a failed series "Invasion".

^^

None of the actors involved are on my must watch list. A lot of those involved with the making of the show have been trying to make it clear that this is not another "Lost" or "FlashForward" in terms of convoluted storylines. That there will be timely answers with the pacing of the show. I have my doubts. I don't have high hopes for this show.

OK, I watched this whole hour-long pilot episode ... and I still don't have a clue what it's supposed to be about. They pretty much lost me after the first half, when I tired of them jumping back and forth to a "23 minutes earlier" scene, then to a "3 weeks earlier" scene. But I tried to give it a fair chance. Flash Forward has more continuity. In the end, I was just angry that I had wasted an hour of my time on this thing.

That's 50 minutes longer than I gave the episode! I stopped watching after 10 minutes.

I am so sick of shows starting with "an event", then backtracking with the time frames to lead up to the event.

I started hating this show as soon as they launched the stupid 23 minutes earlier...eleven days earlier...

I have no problem following a complicated story line, but I’m not watching a show full of flashback and a constantly jumping storyline.

Also, Jason Ritter is a supporting cast (please don’t show him too much) kind of actor IMO. I have no desire to watch a show that he is playing a lead role in.

The Event has officially been removed from my DVR scheduler.
