Say what??

Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who's prepping the upcoming sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens, confirmed widespread rumors via Twitter that Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, will be in the movie!

@Jon_Favreau: Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don't tell anybody.
The tweet appears to confirm a rumor first reported by our buddies at Latino Review.

Ford joins a rockin' cast that includes Tron Legacy's Olivia Wilde and James Bond's Daniel Craig in a movie written by Transformers and Star Trek writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, with Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof, based on the comic-book series.

As you may have guessed, it's about cowboys teaming up with Indians in the Old West to fight off an invasion by aliens.

That's enough to get us signed up!

This movie sounds wacky!

The writing crew looks familiar...

The question is: Will we see anyone burying a crystal skull somewhere in the desert?

Oh god, I hope not.

I had a hard time sitting through "Crystal Skull".

The plot seems a little different, but I can't help but think about "Mars Attacks!" Cowboys & Aliens could easily be just as goofball.

I think it is either going to be one that is surprisingly good (how do you have "primitive" cowboys and Indians defeat aliens with advanced tech other than an H.G. Wells variation?) or it will be an unintentionally funny clunker.

I am reminded somewhat of "Firefly". They may be taking that type of space western approach with the mixing of technologies.

How Indiana Jones and James Bond will fight aliens together

Is this the top-secret storyline for the upcoming sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens, from Iron Man director Jon Favreau, which stars James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, and Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford?

That's the claim at JoBlo.com, which says it's grabbed a copy of the official synopsis of the movie.

Here's what they say is the synopsis for Cowboys & Aliens, which is based on the Platinum Studios graphic novel:

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It's a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

Sounds stupid....in my opinion.
