New Flash Gordon movie: No Queen, no camp, but 3-D!
No Queen? No Camp? And they want me to watch this new version? ![]() I'm also not on the "yayyyy, its 3-D" bandwagon yet either. As an aside, one of the primary reasons I fell in love with the Sci-Fi genre (in the visual form) is for movies like "Flash Gordon" (the 1980 version). The movie was out of this world adventurous, fun and intriguing. The costuming, colors and characters were all so interesting to me. |

I remember watching the serials on television as a kid. I also enjoyed the 1980 version, though admittedly it wears a bit thin now. In some ways it was a fine heir to the serials. Plus, being a bit of a Queen fan, I enjoyed the soundtrack; even owned a copy. That being said, I would love to see them go in the direction they are describing. Don't need the 3-D format if the story is worth it. |

I found a DVD at the Dollar store one time that had episodes of the old Flash Gordon serials. That was a fun watch and good find I thought. My original kidding aside, I am interested in whatever direction they go. At least Flash hasn't been done on film/TV, over and over and over and over like some other comic book characters. |
