The coolest sci-fi home theaters ever: Beam us up!

CE Pro has posted images from some of the best sci-fi-themed home theaters out there, including the one above and below, modeled on Star Trek: The Next Generation's Enterprise D.

Check out the others below! And remember that awesome Stargate-themed theater from a while back?

Click over to see more.

This theater is part of a three-room area, including a bar and ready room. The theater features motion-activated, air-lock doors with sound effects and a "Red Alert" button to turn all of the LEDs bright red and flashing, along with the actual sounds from TNG.

This Matrix-themed home theater cost more than $900,000 and features a Runco DTV-1101 projector, a 4-way screen by Stewart Filmscreen, Faroudja DVP-5000 video processor and Escient Power Play DVD management system.

This Star Wars-themed Death Star theater includes three separate rooms, one starfield and a life-sized Boba Fett, as well as sliding doors and a secret door. There are 10 CinemaTech Valentino motorized seats and a Crestron remote to control.

I love the Star Trek, Star Wars and Stargate inspired theaters, but the Matrix inspired theater is not really to my liking. Although, the Matrix theater chairs look a lot more comfortable than the Star Wars chairs.

I think for that kind of money though, I could create a better home theater. It may not be strictly themed, but it would definitely have better chairs and a bigger screen. :D

I saw something quite a while back now about a guy in Europe who had done his whole apartment to resemble Voyager. While these things seem kind of fun, I can see many a potential buyer of these properties down the line saying "That's the first thing I am changing after I close!"

The most I have ever done like this has been to my screen on the computer. I've set visual and sound schemes to reflect things like this. There are a heck of a lot of .icon, .jpeg, .gif, .wav, and .mp3 files out there to download to accomplish this if one wants it. That way you subject yourself and not everyone else around you to these things.

Or you get someone who says "For this alone im buying this house" -- I know I'd say that.

All I know is if my wife and I were ever in the position of viewing a home that has something like this in it, I'd be ready to sit down and contemplate making an offer and she would be dragging me straight out the door so my head could clear... ;)

My wife allowed me one room in my house that I could do what I wanted in it. Since moving in the room has slowly accumulated her things and is now the room she uses for her home office. It is still decorated the way I want it, but who knows how long that will last.

I love me some Trek, but I think I would get tired of that type of decoration in the whole house or apartment after a while. A movie/entertainment room would be good though...

Sounds like you have a fun computer... :D

Yeah it is. I figured why not indulge myself that way. Along with adding some of those sounds to my cell phone also for certain callers.

Here is a link to one site that offers a lot Trek imagery, sounds, etc., for free.

LCARScom.net

There are a variety of downloads available with the LCARS features. You can find stuff that the site owner is willing to customize for you if you want to go all out and actually make your terminal a seemingly function Trek terminal. I've never been willing to go that far, but the idea seems kind of fun.

^^ Thanks. When I get my personal computer set back up (hopefully sometime this century), I will see about adding a touch more of Trek. :D
