BERLIN (Reuters) - A German man forgot his car after filling it up at a petrol station, police said Friday.

"He just forgot about it and walked off home," said a spokesman for police in the western city of Wuppertal.

After the car had sat blocking the pump for about an hour, a woman working at the petrol station became suspicious and alerted authorities.

Officers contacted the 63-year-old from Remscheid, who came straight back to fetch the vehicle. He had paid to fill up the car before walking off.

Geez, and I thought I was forgetful. :loling:
Though the news report doesn't state it, I wonder if the man had a medical condition causing this.

^^

Exactly. I was thinking Alzheimer’s or something similar. That or he was somehow extremely distracted at the moment by other thoughts.

At least he had paid for the gasoline. I'm sure there would've been some different reactions if he had driven off w/o paying.

I myself have forgotten some things in my lifetime. Then again, I am only 22.

I can be forgetful on occasion to. Like going to the grocery store to pick up a specific item only to return home with items other than what I intended to get.

I hate that...I literally do that every time.
Well, I have to be more careful about what I buy and how much I buy because I'm on a fixed budget every month and it's not much. I have a car also and need to take care of that before anything else. :shuffle: :(

I need a job :(

Maybe he was thinking, "darn, I should of took the train."

That sounds like something I would do. Forget my car. Lately, it's been taking me forever to get out of the house. I literally would be sitting in the car with my seat belt on, engine running and suddenly step out of the car, go all the way upstairs in the house just to see if I unplugged my flat iron or not.
