Tuesday, March 28 1998 {After my By the Lake topic, I know I didn't put a date but if you back to my first post you'll see i've put a month.} Weather: cloudy with a slight chill. OOC- I will be using both of my characters BIC- "Bipolar weather, how'dye like that." Lexi shook her head as she entered the Three Broomsticks pub. The door jingled and several customers looked up to see the slim girl that entered. One of the lone patrons perked up in particular. Lexi! hi...." Tara Benson slid off her seat and rushed over to Lexi happily. She had been alone in the pub for a few minutes wishing for company. The students of Hogwarts {those who had permission slips at least} had been taking one of their scheduled trips to Hogsmeade and Tara had gotten tired of wandering around alone in the cold gloomy weather so she had gone into the pub for a butterbeer. Lexi glanced up and smiled as Tara hurried towards her "Hey, are you all alone?" she almost bit her tongue as she finished her sentance, of course Tara was alone the students seemed to have some strange aversion to her and she hardly ever made an effort to break throught to them. Lexi frowned; probably less than half the students knew that shy Tara even existed. Tara colored as Lexi asked her if she was alone. "Y-yes...I got t-tired of you know being in the c-cold." She motioned her friend over to a seat wondering how Lexi could ask such a question. Lexi flushed "I'm sorry Tara I didn't mean-" "No...no its fine." Tara ducked her head and stared at the counter. Lexi sighed and ordered a butterbeer, she sat back and looked at the top of Tara's head sadly, she wished Tara had a better life at home "Maybe she'd get along with the kids here better." |

(MMM Butterbeer.... Mind if I join??) Jeffrey stomped his boots to get a particularly thick chunk of mud off them, then stepped through the door to the Three Broomsticks. He'd never been to an all wizarding town before, and he pondered how Harry Potter himself must have felt the first time he walked through the streets, and stepped into the pub. He grinned as he remembered that Harry had to sneak in and was glad he had permission from his Gran. He looked around and saw a few other students obviously from Hogwarts. Some looked familiar, others he was sure he didn't know. He grinned politely at a pair of girls as he took a seat at the table next to them, and dipped his head in greeting with a mumbled "Hey." It was a weak attempt at conversation, but he was traditionally shy. He knew that one of the girls was Lexi, he remembered having a nice conversation with her at Fortescue's before term started, but he also knew that he was typically the invisible sort who went unnoticed. All anyone ever noticed, or remarked, or even remembered about him was his bright blue eyes. He turned his attention to ordering a butterbeer, on a dismal day he knew that it was said to be a great pick me up. He made another half hearted attempt at polite conversation by commenting, "I bet butterbeer will taste great on a day like this." in the girls general direction. He left the statement ambiguous, so that they could reply if they wanted, but if they didn't it could seem as if he was merely making a ramark outloud. He darted his electric blue eyes over at their table as he accepted his drink from Rosemerta, and offered a muffled, "Ah Thank yah," redirecting his gaze to meet the barmistress' momentarily. He slouched over his bottle running his finger over the smooth glass surface. |

Lexi took her gaze away from her shy friend as a boy {she remembered his name was jeffery} came up and sat next to them. "I bet butterbeer will taste great on a day like this." Lexi looked over at him and smiled "Hey Jeffery...yeah this is really good right now." she wondered how many more fo the students would come in to drink the famous butterbeer and warm their stomachs. Tara smiled shyly at the boy who came in a addressed them, Lexi seemed to know him and he didn;t seem all that bad. Lexi looked over at Tara "Tara this is Jeffery...." she glanced over at Jeff "This is Tara." Tara looked over at him "h-hi" |

Jeff's blue eyes sparkled like lightning on a clear summer day. He was glad Lexi remembered him. His face only showed a friendly grin, but in his heart he was grinning from ear to ear. "Mah pleazhah ta meet'cha Tarah," he drawled. He was a little annoyed with himself, as the only time his accent was this thick was typically when he was embarrassed. He tried to take his mind off how easily just meeting someone new was a challenge for him, and changed the subject. "Are yah goin' ta see the Shreakin' shack?" he ask Lexi and Tara, "Ah thought Ah might, but all Ah know for shore is Ah'm goin' ta Honey Dukes afore time tah go back." He grinned a broad smile now, one that lit up his blue eyes with amusement at the thought of all the candy he planned to buy. |

Lexi shrugged when Jeff asked them if they were going to the shrieking shack, she glanced over at Tara who was staring into her drink again. "What do you think Tara?" Tara looked down at the table "I-I don't know...m-maybe." she turned slightly red wishing she could get rid of her stutter. Lexi restrained a sigh and said "I always thought it would be scary going over there but a good scare might do us good." She shook her head "I was taught that to much sugar was bad for me." her tone was joking. |

Jeffrey watched Lexi as she spoke, and grinned even wider when Tara lent her timid voice to the conversation. He didn't know why, but he was starting to enjoy himself. He looked concerned for a moment when Lexi stated her belief about sugar, but he quickly discerned she was not serious. He tipped his bottle up and drank the last third of his butter beer in a quick succession of gulps. The warmth of the liquid spreading throughout his body gave him a bit of courage. Before it could flit away he invited, "Would you two like to go exploring with me?" As soon as he heard himself utter the words his cheeks began to burn, and he could feel himself blushing from his neck to his eyebrows. Shyness didn't come close to explaining his usual demeanor, and he'd rashly invited someone he wanted to get to know better, to make a friend even, but barely knew, and someone he'd only just met, but deeply intrigued him. He nervously jangled his pouch of coins not daring to meet either girls gaze for fear of seeing them trying to be polite and not be too harsh as they refused his brazen offer. He fought an internal struggle, half wanting to offer to buy them a treat at Honeydukes...his gallant side; and half wishing he'd never spoken up at all, his withdrawn cautiously shy side. |

Lexi was enjoying hanging out with Jeff and even Tara seemed to be warming up to him seeing as how he was a nice guy. "Would you two like to go exploring with me?" Lexi grinned liking the idea, she loved exploring. Tara heard Jeff's question and glanced over at Lexi, she wouldn't go unless Lexi did because even though she knew Jeff probably wouldn't treat her like some of the other kids at school did she still wouldn't feel comfortable alone. Lexi caught Tara's glance "Yeah I'd like to." Tara smiled and said "I-I would to...." |

Kiyo stumbled into the door before entering the shop. His boot buckle was broken and his boot was flopping around. He bent down trying to get the stupid thing to behave. He looked up around the room through his pale blue hair that had fallen in front of his bright red eyes. He noticed several student s about. Some he recognized most he didn't. He stood up his boot secured for now and he went and sat at a table near the wall. He went back to trying to fix his boot then gave up and decided to get a drink. He went and got him some butterbeer and sat back down sipping lighlty at the bottle. His hair fell from his face exposing his red eyes. He takes no notice and contionued to look around. |

(soz so long to reply..I promise to try to get on more!) Jeffrey's heartfelt smile lit up his face, his vivid blue eyes shone with mirth. He looked from Lexi to Tara, his smiling face speaking words of happiness at having made the effort towards friends, and having the effort returned. He gripped his money pouch eagerly in his hand, it was far too heavy for his liking, and he now had the bright prospect of having someone to help him choose just how to lighten it. He glanced at the girls bottles of Butterbeer, and was just about to decide between Honeydukes or Zonko's; or maybe the Shreiking Shack first so they wouldn't have bags full of goodies to carry around, when he heard the door open. He watched as another boy entered, fiddled with his boots which were obviously not behaving, and took a seat away from the crowd. He debated greeting the boy, and wondered if it might be pressing his luck. He turned to look at Lexi and Tara his eyes questioning, if the boy was a friend of theirs then he'd have his decision made for him, because if they greeted him, he would also; and if they didn't he wouldn't either. You're such a wimp, hiding behind the actions of others. his mind taunted. He softly offered, "Er, would ya two rather go tah tha Shack first so's we don't have tah worry 'bout carryin' anythin' we buy?" He cast his eyes from the two girls back to the lone boy for a second checking whether he was still sitting alone. |

Lexi frowned slightly not really liking the look of the boy who had stumbled in and Tara paid him no attention, she was looking down again at the table. "The shack sounds like a good idea." Lexi said, she had never been to it and was glad for the opportunity to go with another person. She would have never gone by herself. Tara nodded in agreement "Yeah...d-do you want to go now?" her mind was starting to entertain the hope that she had finally made a friend who wouldn't mind her shy ways. |

Kiyo's eyes fell on a group of three. A boy and two girls. One of the girl's eye he noticedseem to galze over him. He quickly shooke his hair back into his eyes and looked down at the table. He's seen that gaze many time before. Rejection. His eyes, hair, and attire always made people get bad impressions. Nothing he copuld do about the hair and eyes. He had a simple haircut and didn't really want to change it. His outfit suited both sides of his family so he really was against changeing it. He supposed he should just get used to being surveyed with hatefull eyes. It did dampen his self confidence though. "And I got put into Gryffindor how?" He thought miserably to himself. |

Jeffrey grinned at Lexi's and Tara's agreement. He wanted to explore and really wanted friends. He hoped their trip would go well and he'd not make a fool of himself. He stood and asked politely, "Well, ready to go!" He looked over atthe lonely looking boy sitting by himself. He tried to catch his eyes and smile in a friendly way. |

Kiyo looked up at the sound of the boy's voice. He watched as the trio talked then as the boy looked over at him. He gave a small smile back then quickly looked down hideing his eyes. He hoped the boy wouldn't scoff. Sure the other boy didn't look like the sort to be mean, but then again, lots of the people who made the worst comments looke just like him. |

Lexi stood then Tara and Lexi said "Certainly." Tara finally looked over at the boy in the corner, she recognized the look on his face, the one she had seen on her own face many times. He felt that he didn't fit in...someone like her. She went over to him and said quietly "hey." Lexi saw her friend walk over to the boy and she looked over at Jeffery "I suppose we'll have to wait for Tara now." she was slightly surprised that Tara would talk to a complete stranger without being forced to but some days Tara still showed an unpredictable side. |

Kiyo looked up at the girl through his bangs. he was shocked that someone actually had come to talk to him, " Umm hi. Ummm...I'm Kiyomarou..Kiyo-kun for short." He managed to say after a few seconds pause. He blushed slightly and looked quickly down. |

Tara smiled "I'm Tara." She looked back at her friends and then at Kiyo "We were going exploring...would you like to come?" Lexi looked over at Jeffery with raised eyebrows as Tara gave her invitation, she didn't know what to think. |

Jerffrey grinned wider when the boy offered a smidge of a smile. He watched as Tara, who seemed the quiet type, approached the other boy. He would have gone over himself; but he felt it would be rude to just walk off from those he had invited. As Tara had opened the door (and invited the other boy to come along on their sojourn) he gave Lexi an inviting look and stepped beside Tara. "Hallo! Ah, heard ya say yore name was Kyo. (He'd pronounce it kee yoh!) Ahm Jeffrey, Yah can call meh 'bout anythin' save fer late tah suppah!" HE drawled politely by way of greeting offering a slight bow for that deeply ingrained Southern hospitality and formality. He was still grinning politely and friendly toward Kyo, and added his own invitation, "Would ya like tah join us? We were plannin' on visitin' tha Shreakin' Shack; and doin' a lil' shoppin' aftah. It'd make a nice even numbah if'n you'd come along." |

Kiyo stepped back as the other boy came over. His eyes darted behind him then back at the boy and Tara. "Uh..H..h..hi." He stuttered. The bit his lip then smiled hesitantly,"Sh..Sheaking Shack? S..sounds good. Uh..not to be r..rude..b..but where..I..I'm from..we....we add kun or san..to the ends...of names.....Umm...could..you please....add the kun...." he blushed but went on stuttering less and less,"I'm r.really not trying to be rude. It's..just well..It's just feels weird not being called Kiyo-kun. I don't know you guys well. I hope to get to know you..but..." his words seemed to die. It wasn't that he didn't mind leaving the kun off, just that he didn't want people he didn't really know getting too used to it. "But..that aside. I'd..really like to come along with you Jeffery-kun, Tara-chan" |

Tara looked over at Lexi who was scrutinizing Kiyo with a penetrating gaze. Tara went over to Lexi's side and said quietly "Give him a chance." Lexi look over at her friend and sighed replying "very well." she raised her voice so that the other two could hear her "Alright I suppose its selttled then, Kiyo-kun I'm Lexi and I think we should get walking if we want to get there before its dark." She smiled "or we could wait until its dark but some of us might get scared." |

Kiyo blinked, was she referring to him being scared? He hoped not. He looked at the ground frowning, "Don't we have to return to school by dark? It doesn't really matter..besides it's easier to sneek around at night." He looked at Lexi his deep red eyes emotionless. |

Jeffrey smiled politely and nodded his assurance to try to remember the honorific the boy wanted added. "Ah'm sure we all are expecting to be thrilled, Liyo-kun, but I will admit to a might of trepidation at the prospect to visiting something even witches and wizards fear as haunted!" He stepped back to allow room for Kiyo to stand and join them as Lexi, Tara, and Kiyo discussed curfew and their impending possability to break it if they weren't careful! "After ya'll," he stated simply. (I presume this would wrap this up then as the current location is 3B?? ~3B = three broomsticks~ and our 'leaving' means a different location correct?) |

Kiyo shrugged, "I was invited..its up to you guys." He stood up streatching then glared down at his broken bootstrap. "Hope I dun't get into troubel for this..." He took out his wand and pointed it at the broken strap,''Reparo!" He then put his wand away and waited to see what they'd be doing. (Hmm I suppose so..I dunno..ur the ad-min Jeff-san  )
