Well how would you evaluate the success of the Java Hut, removal of Games Discussion and the changes in discussion in Community Chat. Also what do you all think about your pinning serious game topics in Ratings to see if serious games can survive?

I love the Java Hut. It's good to finally have a place for intellectual discussion, rather than "OMGZ JOIN MA FORUM!1!!1! LOL", and the page upon page of locked topics with titles like "*snip*", "bork'd", ":BoinK:", etc.

Removal of games discussion is good, but come e3, the barrage of PSP vs DS topics will come again. :pete:  :e3:....

Pinning topics: BIG no. Imagine my coolness as a really big number. Then double that number. So 2 is how big my no is. It encourages people to spam because they think the more topics they have the more chance they have of putting something like "OMGZ A HAV A PINND TOPIKK!11!!!1!" in their sig. Then posting a topic about it in IF discussion, hoping that will get pinned. So NO.

I meant what do you think about Extreme Makeover in Ratings and Games and being pinned as per the suggestion several of you gave me.

Oh, *that*. :$

I think it's a good idea to have *that* pinned because it's a game that actually brings the community closer together. I mean, someone could make a sig for another member, and before you know it, they're quite good friends, compared to everything else which is just an excuse to post.

Very good idea, though you might want to let people who don't enter that forum know that it is there.

So far I think Java hut is doing very well, I haven't seen any spamming (though the fast food restraunt may come close it still is intellectual right now)

The removal of gaming discussion hasn't really done much as there isn't that many topics for it (e3 is coming, beware mods ;) )

I think you should if you do pin games, limit it too 2-3 and unpin them after awhile (10-20 pages of posts).

I like the pinning of the makeover topic but way to much spam in that topic for my liking..

The java hut, its great hopefully spammers will stay scared of it, I think strict moderation should be used to let people know that IF is serious about it being serious discussion only.

Oh and i have no idea what e3 is :P I never went to games or what ever section it was so i dont miss it,
