Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Boys' Dorm; OOT, After Christmas, Early Morning

Ray was an early riser, always had been. The blame was fully on his eccentric mother for that one. Most days he was up before the sun had risen and spent the time in between outside. He liked watching the sun bring in another day. It was a ritual, of sorts. One that calmed him more than anything else. It was a part of him; almost more than his arms and legs were. This particular morning he was a little off his groove. Ray'd been up late with a girl and all the more groggy because of it. His movements sluggish, his thoughts blurry... He was probably making a lot more noise than his dorm mates wanted to deal with at so early an hour. Normally he was in and out without so much as a disgruntled grunt from one of the other Gryffindor boys but today, what with rolling out of bed and stubbing his toe on the bed frame, he was waking people up. A few curse words swapped back and forth and he was pulling a sweater over his head and grabbing some of the warmer gear he'd need to survive in the chilly winter air.

He didn't make it very far out of his room however, the Gryffindor slumped down onto the steps leading into the common and rested his head against a wall, a large yawn escaping him. Blearily, he took the time to put on socks. The motions were coming brutishly slow. Did it matter which sock went on which foot? "Bloody fucking hell, mate. Get your shit together." The strict reprimanding did absolutely nothing to jump start his sleep deprived brain into normal functionality. Another yawn seemed to help. Girls'd be the death of him. (Though he couldn't look back on last night with any sort of regret, though a dopey sort of grin crossed his features.) Blandly, he considered traversing back across the minefield of a dorm room and to his cot... But thought better of it. Last thing he needed was for someone to hold a grudge, or be awake enough to find their wand and hex him.

ooc/ Figured he coulda woken Keaton up or something and they can chat on the steps? idek ^^

Antisocial as hell, and a temper to boot.

Keaton never had nice dreams; his subconscious seemed hellbent on flipping from one bizarre scene to another. With a slight sigh inaudible to his own sleep-filled ears, the Gryffindor stirred, rolling to a more comfortable position. After what seemed like an eternity, the images ceased as a male's voice cut through his dreams, effectively pissing the boy off. Keat slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes vigorously with one hand and reaching for the nearest pair of trousers with the other. As Keaton pulled them on, he stumbled out of the dorm to glare at the boy that had roused him from his slumber.

"What the hell gives?" the Gryffindor asked groggily, posing it more as a statement than a question. Keaton stood in the hall, bare-chested, taking a moment to identify the other male. Ray Jenning already hadn't been his favorite of housemates, and that statement now proved itself to be even more true. "Sorry that I have to ask, but would you mind shutting the fuck up next time?" The boy swore a few more times under his breath. He silently hoped that it was quite clear that he didn't give half a damn about what Ray thought of him; unimportant nobodies with no respect for anybody else weren't worth even just a small portion of his time.

He'd been followed. Both eyebrows rose lazily at the perpetrator. Of all the years going in and out of the dorm... Fuck up once and someone calls you on it. Ray supposed that was how life worked sometimes. His head twisted from side to side and his shoulders rolled back. Already, he could feel a small head ache forming. This generally happened when his morning peace was disturbed. For a small moment, while he tried to compartmentalize the pain creating a dull throb at the back of his head, he debated even bothering answering the guy before turning to his sneakers and slipping one on, he was tying the shoelace when his answer came.

A small yawn preceded it, "And the solution, you felt, was to come out here and make more noise?" Another sneaker, "'M only human, man. You want an apology or something?" Ray didn't feel that one was deserved, but he wasn't the sort to stir waters. Hell, if someone disturbed his sleep he'd probably roll right over and go back to sleep. At this rate, none of the Gryffindor boys would be able to sleep in til Breakfast. Ray stood, a few gratuitous moments went to picking up the rest of his winter gear, after he'd finished tying his other shoe. "Can ream me out in the common if you want, man." With that, he started down the stairs. Not really caring if he was followed or not.

Keaton yawned at the other boy's response, but his lazy, couldn't-care-less demeanor was shattered when Ray promptly left. With a groan, Keaton went back to his bunk, chose a shirt at random, and pulled it on. With his shirt halfway over his head, Keat blindly made his way back into the hallway before poking his head through the neck hole. Due to his small size and antisocial nature, the boy was not usually one for fights or arguments. But he did anger easily, and Ray's departure had managed to tick Keaton off just enough for him to follow Ray down the stairs to the Common Room.

"Where the hell d'you think you're going?" Keat snapped, hurrying down the stairs and raising a hand to take hold of the other boy's sleeve. "You bet your ass I expect an apology. C'mon, Ray," he sneered. "I'm sorry. Say't, please." He said the last word with the least amount of politeness possible.

Admittedly, confrontation wasn't what the Gryffindor was best at. Keat was hardly intimidating in stature, and though he tried to make up for it with the words he chose, it was often a laughable attempt. But he didn't care. His sleep had been disturbed by an inconsiderate prick, and he felt that it was best to make his opinions known, preferably directly to Ray Jenning's face. Keaton dropped his hands and took a slight step back in case the usually calm boy attempt to take a swing at him, and awkwardly ran the first few fingers of one hand through his curly hair.

The angry call had been enough to stop him in his tracks, even turn bemusedly around when his sweater was gripped; the rest of his turn was forced by the pressure the other guy exerted. "T'are you, my mother?" A very large part of Ray was not expecting to be taken up on his suggestion. Shocked anger turned into amusement in a manner of seconds. This was a ridiculous situation and he'd never seen someone so tiny so... angry... before... He wondered if Keaton would follow him through his morning routine this way, given the opportunity? Indeed, Ray was very near laughing, as he pulled his arm from the boy's grip but stopped himself as he noticed just how peeved off the guy was. Last thing he needed to be doing was stepping on toes. Though it appeared diplomacy was among the things that pissed Keaton off, Ray was at a bit of a loss on what he should actually be doing.

"Sorry to interrupt your beauty sleep, gorgeous." The Gryffindor commented, in his usual manner, the hint of a smile shaping before he stopped himself. It was the same easy going tone he'd use to make a joke to a friend. Common sense dictated that it wouldn't be very effective against someone so riled up. Perhaps even have the opposite effect. Too late to take the words back. Not that he had any reason to be cordial. "Might want to get back to it." Great, and now he was suggesting the guy was ugly. It had really only been an attempt to get ornery Gryffindor out of his face and back to what he'd clearly rather be doing. Well, wouldn't be the first time Ray'd managed a badly timed play on words. Man, but he had better things to do than deal with this. Maybe it was time to actually pay attention to the shit coming out of his mouth and be a bit more docile? Ray was getting way more tense over this ordeal than he ever wanted to be.

The sun was starting to rise, but the rest of the guys in the dorm were fast asleep. Except Ray. Upon stumbling about the room, a few Gryffindors were disgruntled by Ray who have interrupted their deep slumber. One of them were Henry. Ray and him have had the best night last night. The first night they have enjoyed in a long time. Dungeons, girls, a few bottles of alcoholic drinks, everything just came together. Henry grunted at his best friend, "Fuck off, Ray." It wasn't meant to be an offensive comment. Henry always joked around Ray like that and the other boy knew about it.

Henry suddenly felt sick. He needed something to drink. Sitting down carefully, he reached under his bed to get a bottle of water. Gulping like there's no tomorrow, Henry finished off every single drop of water from the bottle. The water did not only quench his thirst, it also woke his senses up in an unfashionably manner. He squinted at the moving figure across the room. As Henry's eye sight became clearer, he realised he was looking at Keaton Maddox putting on his jeans. He averted his gaze as far as way as possible from the guy. Oh jesus, did I just do a gay thing? he thought to himself. Once he saw Keaton was done, Henry also saw the look on the guys face; like he wanted to punch someone. Curious, Henry followed the guy out, not bothering for a clothing except for his silk boxer shorts.

No doubt, he was right. Keaton was picking a fight with Ray. Or was it the other way around? Scratching his head, Henry approached the blokes. "Easy there, cowboy." Henry looked at Keaton. "I think you need to cool off, yeah? It's not good pickin' a fight in the morning." Then averting his attention to Ray, he grinned. "And you... You know better than agreeing to get into a fight." Henry sat down; addressing both of the guys, "Oh, and good mornin'"

Keaton laughed, despite his growing anger. He was used to being insulted; years of Muggle video games had desensitized him to many of the rude comments other people tended to throw around these days. He could both dish it out and take it, in a way. Even though most of the people that used "hurtful" words in arguments were females and youth that were attempting to sound smart, he didn't mind throwing some out there every once in a while. "I guess I should," Keat said. "And I probably still would be if your stupid ass hadn't woken me up". The Gryffindor curled his toes uncomfortably against the cold floor; perhaps he should have worn his socks to bed. Ah, well. He'd grab a pair once this crap was over.

Ugh. And then there were two. Keat glanced at Henry, as annoyed as he would have been if Tudor had been a fly buzzing around his head. "Ahh, knock it off," he groaned, shrugging the other boy's advice aside with ease. "This doesn't involve you, Henry. But g'mornin'. Sorry if I interrupted your sleep." He paused, as if considering what he'd said. "Oh, wait - no, I really don't give half a crap." Turning back to Ray, Keat rubbed a sleepy palm across his face. "And you. Be more consid'rate. I know it's a lot to ask from someone like you, but I could dumb it down for ya, if you'd like."

Ray was about to turn away from the guy and make both their days' a little better when Henry showed up. A smile lit his features, despite being told off. "Hell, it barely involves me." His one protest at how uppity Curly over there was being. Really, it was barely the morning, who even had gumption to talk this early? "Hey man, sorry to wake ya. Bit of a rough night, yea?" Alright, rough, probably wasn't an accurate description. But working off the after effects of a hangover could definitely explain his own attitude. Not that he'd been given a good situation to deal with. Hell, most guys would have went straight to blows after being touched. Ray was far too down to earth for that crap.

The Gryffindor's eyes narrowed slightly as the dude apologized and then took it back. What a confusing guy. Was that supposed to be snide? But man, that was a lot of 'And you's' for one morning. "T'ever, man." The last thing he needed was a hypocritical lesson from this happy aresehole. Ray was willing to be the bigger man, if it got him out of the common faster. The dusk hours were dwindling and at this rate he'd miss the sunrise. Of course, it wouldn't really be fair of him to ditch Henry now. "'M sure we've all got things we'd rather be doing." There, diplomacy. Probably for the first time since he'd gotten up this morning.

Henry frowned at the curly haired guy. "Come on. Now, that was just rude." Henry was too pissed and tired to even bother picking a fight with an inconsiderate human being. He lay there like a starfish and closed his eyes, not bothering to acknowledge Keaton's existance anymore. Thinking back to the previous night, Henry chuckled. Last night was too much fun. He wished it never ended. His stomach growled loudly. He opened one eye and looked at Ray. 'Mate, want to get some food? Starving." Henry couldn't even form a sentences anymore. He was sleep deprived and hungry, and he needed to do something about it.

Keat snorted, and took a couple of steps forward, in Henry's direction. Who did this Tudor kid think he was? "Shouldn't matter to you," the Gryffindor replied. "As this whole mess really didn't concern you in the first place. Now why don't you take your pussy ass self and go find some ugly little Huff'n'Puffin chick to call your own for the rest of the mornin'?" After sizing up the boy, however, Keat sniffed disdainfully and turned his back on the pair. He wasn't all that desperate for a fight, and so he certainly wasn't stupid enough to go pick one with Henry, despite how much he wanted to.

The Gryffindor groaned and rubbed his eyes some more. He really needed to brush his teeth, wash his face, and maybe get something to eat, if it wasn't too late to go down for breakfast. "Just shut up," Keaton said, turning his head slightly. The comment was directed at Ray, though it could have just as easily applied to Henry as well. "It's over an' done with, I suppose." He said, quickly following it up with a; "Still doesn't change the fact that you're stupid as hell, though. Best you don't forget that."

(If anybody takes offense at the way Keaton speaks, I'll change it. LOL.)

Ray put his hand on Henry's shoulder at Keat's retort. Anger prickled within him. The Gryffindor was unsure whether the hand was to restrain his friend or to stop himself. As he had a hard time tolerating insults thrown at his friends. It was thus with a very great amount of self restraint that he remembered this guy wasn't worth either of their time. Quietly ignoring anything else that spewed from the other guy's mouth, Ray spoke directly to his friend, "Come'n, maybe we can snag some food from the kitchens before Breakfast starts." The Gryffindor suggested, not planning on turning for the exit until he was sure Henry wasn't going to lunge at their house mate.
