Today's Forecast: The air is reminiscent of spring. The snow, turning slowly into a fine carpet of slush, is slowly disappearing after a decidedly warm spell.

Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

The Late Arrival

Aarya al-Sulayman, the new transfer student from Pakistan, was running five days late. Her flight had re-routed from flying over Syrian airspace to land in Turkey, arriving just in time for the Egyptian revolts to ground outbound flights. She spent two nights and three days in Cairo's international airport before finally departing to London and King's Cross Train Station. The girl spent 3 hours trying to find platform 6 1/2, missing her train and delaying her arrival by yet another day. All told, it was quite the adventure for a 17 year-old girl, unaccustomed to the world, to take. It was also prohibitively expensive and the poor girl found herself 500 pounds poorer for all the expenses she incurred. The girl knew tuition was pre-arranged, but her books, clothes, and other school materials would need to be paid out of pocket. 2000 pounds had seemed a fortune to Ary when the ministry first offered, but things had been more expensive than she thought. The girl could not help but wonder if she would even last two weeks.

These budgetry concerns had occupied the girl's mind for the entire train trip, and while it was effective at wearing away the hours and drudgery, it hardly provided her with peace of mind. Ary could only hope that the proctor she was scheduled to meet with wouldn't be too angry over her unexpected delays.

Her train of thought was broken by the long toot of the steam whistle, leaving behind only her worries and anxieties writhing like worms in her stomach. She had finally arrived at the English school for wizards. They always dabbled in things like worms and toads, maybe they would know something about curing this condition in her stomach, Ary thought before those worms in her stomach twisted those thoughts. "Or maybe they'll materialize those worries in to worms and make you throw us up." The worries told her.

Ary froze at that thought, paralyzed by her fear whether she should or should not leave the train car. The conductor finally escorted her out with the kindness and gently dragged her and her belongings to the exit. No wonder this country has a lion on its coat of arms, Ary thought as she was forcibly dragged in front of the waiting proctor and her committee.

The girl had an exotic air to her, bronze skin with incredibly short hair mingled with the scent of cumin and dust. She wore a simple but heavy coat that appeared 1 size too big for her, that on closer inspection was actually designed as a men's overcoat. More importantly, by the method of her entrance and the way she refused to make eye contact, the new transfer student hardly seemed like she wanted to be here.
