Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Well, today had been uneventful. Nothing particularly unusual had happened. If you factored in all of the normal unusual goings on, that is. As far as he knew, no one had been attacked today, so it had to be pretty normal. Normal enough. Boring, always boring. Here he was, surrounded by all in the world that could be considered exciting and he was bored out of his wits; while other people could be sitting in an empty room and be thrilled out of their wits. It was all about attitude. Adrien couldn't see a point behind it. Though he was known for being over-analytical. Untrue, nobody knew who he was. But atleast he knew himself to be so. Perhaps if he cleared his mind of everything it would be easier to view things optimistically. If he cleared his mind of everything, would he be able to view anything at all? Was that the point behind the entire thing?

Ignorance is bliss.

Experimentally he adjusted his facial expression, moving his jaw around in wide circles, into the grimace of an expression Greggory the Smarmy was wearing. Adrien was sitting across from the statue and had been studying it, contemplating, for a good portion of the morning. He had woken up in the morning, slid into comfortable pair of jeans and a button down shirt, not bothering with the school uniform; he rarely went to class and had made his way here. As always, he carried a sketch book and quill. Though it remained untouched by his side. Adrien took a moment to try a smile, the muscles in his face tense at the strange action and he felt an odd emotion bubble inside him, almost like he was going to laugh. Instead, he let out a bit of a choking noise and relaxed against the wall. Greggory the Smarmy. If the statue was enchanted to move, or do anything it had not since he had sat down.

Adrien moved to pick up his sketch book, deciding he'd devote some time to drawing and animating the statue himself... he paused at the sound of distant footsteps... it would take a while for the footsteps to reach him, if they didn't turn off somewhere. So he continued with what he was doing.

Being such a good little Hufflepuff, Hollie awoke this morning and put her unifrom on, she made sure it was straight before platting her hair down her back and straightening the fringe to its side, Hollie then proceeded to place her make up on before making her way to her favourite place when she had a free period, the Fifth Floor Corridor, she had always found peace with this corridor, something about it made her feel as if she was at home with her seven siblings, well, three from her mums side at least.

As Hollie bounced down the corridor in her sensible school shoes she felt happier then in the common room with those judgemental girls, not all of them were bad but Hollie did prefer the company of someone who could hold their own in a conversation, it wasn't long before she found someone. About halfway down the corridor she saw a familiar figure, Adrien Callahan, a quiet lad, like to keep to himself but very smart and he could hold his own in a conversation, so Hollie happily bounced over.

"Hey, Adrien, right?" She asked, although she knew. "What are you doing down here?"

Well, he couldn't properly describe the footsteps as normal anymore, they sound far too upbeat to be proper footsteps. He didn't have enough time to consider what made a footstep upbeat... Regardless, he kept his eyes on his paper, not needing to look up to Greggory, for reference. He'd memorized what the statue had looked like practically at first sight. Adrien did look up as he was adressed, squinting though a patch of hair at the buoyant person before him. As with most people, Adrien knew who she was, only more so as they had been paired in a Potions class. She was quite friendly, as Hufflepuff's tended to be, and didn't bother him. An added bonus. It was still odd to have people come up and approach him. Perhaps he was a little too used to closing himself up inside Slytherin quarters.

"Morning," An odd note of confusion passed across his face. He wasn't entirely sure if it was still morning. Nevertheless, he's feel odd saying two h words in quick succession; "Hollie." He finished abruptly, shaking the hair out of his eyes and readjusting himself into a more comfortable talking arrangement. Though his pride immediately made him want to stand and loom he didn't feel quite like upsetting his entire situation for the sake of it. What was he doing down here? He assumed she wasn't talkign about sitting on the floor. Though he found himself blathering out the obvious regardless; "Sitting." Absent from his tone were the normal bitter mockeries that he saved for people like Rana and any other Slytherin who ever spoke to him. He then adjusted the image he had been working on so she could see it, if she wanted to, as further explanation as to why he was just sitting.

Deigning to continue the conversation; "And you? Don't you have class?" The tiniest hint of a smirk crossed over his features, suggesting he was skipping Magical Concepts. He wondered what would bring a person to the fifth floor corridor on a normal day, there wasn't much excitement here. Unless, of course, you were headed somewhere else. Adrien actually quite like the view the corridor presented of the grounds, in all honesty and he felt the statues held a bit more character than the other ones around the school...

Hollie was well aware that Adrien was one to himself and that she wasn't going to change that by coming her and disturbing him, but she sure as hell would try, being a typical Hufflepuff, Hollie was happy to talk to anyone, she was pretty sure she would still try and be social with someone while they Avada her! She wasn't sure where her ballsy temperment came from, no one else in her family could approach near strangers and strike a conversation, Hollie had practically no fear whatsoever!

Smiling at Adrien as he moved himself, Hollie soon felt comfortable enough to sit opposite Adrien making sure her skirt covered her knees when she crossed her legs. As Adrien moved his pad, Hollie looked down, he certainly had some talent, she could see that, Hollie thought she was the only person who could see the beauty in the statues on this floor, it was nice to see that she wasn't the only one, looking up at the statue in front of them, Hollie smiled. "Amazing, a large stone crafted into this, beautiful, you can feel the magic radiating from it" She told him, she took another look at his picture and could see where he saw the magic.

"Free period" Hollie told him, "I like to come here when its like this, feel the magic, it makes me feel like being at home, except the massive statues of course" She laughed, "The peace helps me concentrate for the day"

Adrien watched as she made herself comfortable, considering that she surely had something better to do with her time... He listened keenly as she talked about the statues, resisting the urge to continue his sketch. It wasn't half done yet, that which hadn't been perfected was a vague scratchy outline. Adrien normally started with a vague outline and then worked from the top of the page down. Making sure that everything was as it should be before continuing to the next piece of the picture. He had a steady hand and an iedetic memory, he rarely needed to fix a mistake with magic. He wondered, for a brief moment, if she meant literal or figurative magic. "It hasn't shown any signs of being enchanted..." His voice trailed off as he glacned back up at the towering statue. "Though I can't help think it's alive in some way." This was barely audible.

Greggory the Smarmy was a potioneer, a potion that made the drinker believe whoever he had received the drink from was his best friend. What an empty sort of life that would be. The carving was indeed beautiful, perhaps it had merely been crafted using magic, that might explain something. His gaze returned to Hollie as she resumed talking and very carefully he shut the sketchpad, so he wouldn't be tempted to draw. He'd been told it was rude. By another Hufflepuff who talked to him every so often. She had a nice laugh, not annoyingly pitched, or anything. He managed a slight smirk in response, he might have grinned, if he wasn't concerned about cracking his face open. Adrien could relate to what she said, only he had no way of expressing it properly. It didn't remind him of home, but it was peaceful. "You don't run into many people here," Adrien agreed, cordially, "Not during class time anyways..." That, to him, was peaceful. No noise, no drama and he felt less lonely when no one was around.

Hollie often found that she sometimes imagined the corridor as her house, her brothers and sisters running around, her mum and step-dad, dad and step-mum-to-be all sitting around the table talking, they did a lot of that last summer, although there was still a lot of tension between her mum and dad, all the kids liked to play with each other, as her dads lot were directly connected to Hollie and the triplets, it also meant that her mums other children get to play as well, it was nice, over the summer Hollie was allowed to join the adults talking, it was so much more different to playing dolls and shops and schools and mummy and daddys, she liked it, Hollie figured that after this year things may be better.

"You can feel it" Was all Hollie replied as she continued to imagine her family around her in this wonderful stretch of corridor. "Have you ever thought that on your own the corridor and your imagination make up their own magic? A magic so strong that the witch or wizard feeling it would find closure and happiness here?" She asked, a bit deep for her, but this corridor did that.

Adrien closed his eyes for a few moments, fighting off a small headache. His back was sore from sitting on the stone floor for so long. It was a small miracle his butt wasn't numb yet, but he couldn't bring himself ot move. Not when someone had joined him on the floor. After a few moments of extreme mental concentration he was able to fend off the headache. He found that by focusing on only one thing, he was able to ignore most pain or relieve it. Head aches were simplest. Ignoring all else made him relax, relaxing normally ended headaches. His eyes snapped open and he turned his gaze to Hollie as she continued speaking. It was odd, but the things that came out of her mouth sounded oddly like the basis behind illusion. His families version of it, anyways.

Slightly different. But the brain, or imagination, was definitely the cause for many things. Adrien knew, that is he could perfect illusionary he could cast a spell that would make the brain create a place of solitude. Or he could create a place so imbued with that emotion that it carried over to the person in the illusion. Well, he had a lot of work before anything like that became possible. Right now, his version of illusion was a bit of a scam, like hearing a broken record player. Over and over and over... until you turned it off. Her own concept seemed sound enough, though the terminology 'magic' might be a bit off. Well, if you thought of it as casting spells. Magic was supposed to be unexplainable. Adrien could explain the brain linking a particular emotion to a certain place.

"Something like that."

A bit cryptic, but he wasn't about to go into a huge sermon. No one knew about his ability, or what it did. He was good at keeping secrets. Probably one of the only reasons his father had taught him the small amount he had. Adrien's father had a far greater knowledge of illusion than he. This he knew because his father had shown him a world created using the mind. It had been... incredible. But he had no idea how to recreate it. "The corridor to you is place of solitude." Adrien reiterated, after a brief moment. "Just as being in the forbidden forest could be a place of solitude for someone else." The comparison had been more drastic to get his point across. It was all based on the past, what had happened o the person previously in that particular place.
