| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. The sun was long past it's peak hours and was slowly starting to disappear across the horizon. Visibility was still optimal and it wasn't incredibly cold. But he had worn a sweater regardless. Who knew how long they'd be out here and doing what. IT would get cold when it was dark out. He had also brought his wand. It was stupid to walk without it these days. Adrien walked casually across the ground to serve out his detention. Generally speaking, he wouldn't have gone. But it was to be served in the Forbidden Forest. So, why not? There wasn't any other time that a student was allowed to enter the Forbidden Forest. Perfect opportunity to explore without... having to serve a detention. Was that ironic? Probably. Though he would be serving out the detention with Rana, if she showed up. At least he'd have her degrading comments as amusement if the Forbidden Forest proved unworthy. When he arrived at the Forbidden Forest he stopped near the border and glanced around a little awkwardly. He was alone. No teacher, no Rana. Of course, he was probably early. He had ditched out on his last class and probably left the common too early. Feeling slightly ridiculous he got himself comfortable against a tree, closed his eyes and shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. Muggle clothing. Were jeans not muggle clothing? Wouldn't a robe be terribly cold in weather like this? There wasn't any material to really cover your legs at all. The boy groaned inwardly. What was he thinking about? Why was he here? It was just a detention, what did he care if points were deducted from Slytherin? Was it the fact that the detention would be served with Rana that had enticed him to come? He hoped not. That would just be embarrassing. Like anything else, he could chalk it up to boredom. Right? Not that he was particularly worried anyone would ask. This was stupid. Maybe they'd meet a great beast in the Forbidden Forest and it'd give him something else to think about. 'Gee, I might die now. Wouldn't that be something?' What fun would traipsing through the forest be under strict supervision? Maybe he'd just enter? Adrien opened his eyes at the sound of approaching footsteps. Too late to just disappear into the forest now. What good would it do him to be seen entering the forest? That was asking for trouble. Snicker. Detention. ooc/ Maybe they just enter the forest before the Prof shows up? haha. I don't really have a plan for what's going to happen. Winging it is fun though! |

Rana waltzed into the Forbidden Forest, fashionably late (as always). Of course, she couldn't exactly say the same for Adrien. The last thing she wanted was to arrive early. Taking small, delicate steps past the figure, she tut-tutted just loud enough for him to hear. The school dress code didn't seem to have bothered her; earlier, Rana had slipped into something more comfortable, nameingly a pair of jeans and a silverish sweater. "Where's the Professor?" Rana demanded almost as soon as her shoulder blades had touched the trunk of a tree. Patience was not, to her, an important characteristic in a person, least of all herself. Resting on a branch that dipped low to the ground, and even lower with her weight, she did her best to ignore the male propped up against one of the neighbouring trees. But it soon grew boring. "Though it pains me to ask," she began, rather dramatically. "How has your day been? It is, in fact, a holiday. I assume you found a-" Rana trailed off, cocking her head to the side as she pondered how to word her next sentence. "Suitable... girl to spend your time with." Rana sighed and rearranged a pile of stones with her toe. She'd been alone for the majority of the day, and though it didn't bother her as much as it would a lesser creature, being alone was not entirely to her satisfaction. If given the opportunity, she'd fling her schoolbooks aside, and spend Valentine's Day with a good-looking person of the opposite gender. Unfortunately, nobody that she deemed worthy enough had come forth to claim their prize. Rana chewed the inside of her cheek in silence, eyes on the path from which she had entered the forest. When no dark figure materialized, she groaned. "Care to leave?" she asked, knowing it was probably against school rules. Edited by Rana Rosanne, Oct 3 2011, 07:31:05 PM.

Adrien was quite content with ignoring her presense; not so much as a 'hullo'. But she quickly broke the silence, impatient as always. But how would he know where the Professort was? Well, perhaps the Professor had come early and then went to take a piss amidst the bushes- or gone in search of Rana- who was late. So, he kept his sarcasm to himself, "Perhaps the Professor assumed we wouldn't show?" Woops, that was sarcasm, right? Adrien didn't like to be kept waiting. It was rude to make an appointment and then not keep it. It was why he prefered being early. "Maybe they're lost? Or have the brain capacity of a gnat." He supposed his biting sarcasm wasn't offending when it wasn't directed at the person he wasn't currently talking to. There was silence. He didn't want to push her buttons any more then he had previously. "You shouldn't do something that pains you." Adrien stated dismissively, ignoring the dramatic flair. He also tried not to read too much into the simple question and merely threw a smirk in her direction. "Are you kidding? I've been holding out for this detention with you all day." Joking, of course. Though he didn't laugh. He never laughed. Adrien supposed he wasn't good at not pushing her buttons, hopefully she wouldn't take it the wrong way. "Yourself? Surely there was someone up to par?" Perhaps his default tone was sarcastic? He hadn't meant to offend with that statement. Rana's screening process was intense. The Professor didn't appear to be coming. Peachy, eh? The boy had fallen into a crouch while waiting, and had begun picking aimlessly at the grass around his feet. His gaze turned towards Rana once more as she spoke. "There isn't any plausible reason to stay." He muttered, with a shrug. Feeling slightly irritated at himself and his inability to be cordial. "I wouldn't mind exploring the forest. To see what all the fuss is about. Plus, we have a bit of an excuse don't we? They can't really blame us for going into the forest if we were supposed to serve a detention there anyways." A lot of talking. Perhaps the Professor had wandered into the forest and they had gone looking for him? No sarcasm, he had merely been speaking his thoughts. "I will not, however, force you to stay. Feel free to leave, you don't need to be so cordial to someone like me." It was an ongoing thing he teased her about. They always ended up in eachother's company despite his low social standing. "Up to you. I can walk you back it you'd like?" Wasn't the castle dangerous, or something? He shrugged simply, his gaze going deeper into the forest. |

"Or maybe," Rana said, picking at her nail. "They didn't want to be anywhere near you." Of course, she wasn't exactly joking. But she was not being unnecessarily rude, either. Whether it was half and half or a quarter and a three, she usually mixed sarcasm in with seriousness. "Either way, I don't think the Professor's about to show," Rana declared, kicking a particularly large stone in Adrien's direction. A shame that he was the only person she had for company, but the boy would have to do. Besides, Ray couldn't exactly depend on a false antisocial attitude forever, could she? "What's done is done," she said plainly, knocking aside the comment with one of her own. Their conversations usually seemed to take the same retaliating format. After awhile, they had the tendency to grow tedious, despite how fun teasing him had seemed at first. Perhaps she was maturing. For the first time in a long time, Rana took a moment to think about her family. There were no tears; Rana never cried. She was proud of how far she had come, and with her father in mind, it was easy to forget about the other Slytherin. But it only lasted a short time. Adrien seemed to be feeling strangely adventurous today, and Ray couldn't think of any reason to discourage his behavior. Though the way Adrien worded his sentences made Rana feel as though she was being forced to accompany him, she set her jaw and started down the quickest path to the center of the Forbidden Forest. Rana didn't bother to look behind her, since, despite the possible danger from their location, it was only a game. As nearly all of her friends knew, she didn't like to lose. |

Well, he'd probably been lining himself up for the insuly anyways. Couldn't particularly blame her. He could, however, ignore her. It was impossible to ignore, however, the Rana that started storming into the forest. Had he said something to set her off? He hadn't really intended to end up spending more time with her, but she was kind of funny. Adrien supposed it wouldn't be too bad. Of course he wished she would have said something before charging in... he's have to catch up with her now, but didn't feel much like walking faster. Adrien, after overcoming his inital shock, slowly followed, shaking his head in vague amusement. She certainly was straightforward. Perhaps he was the one who should stop dicking around. Adrien didn't call after her to slow down, he merely followed at his own pace, if she got into some shit it would be her own fault, he wouldn't take responsibility... A large flurry of motion caught his attention. He blinked in shock as a flock of birds sprung from the ground where Rana had been walking. Why had they sprung from the ground? Had she stepped on ssomething? What sort of bird nested on the ground? Adrien didn't have much time to think as the birds seemed to be honing in to attack her, angry at the disturber of their peace undoubtedly. He pulled out his wand rapidly and shot sparks in the direction of the mishap, hoping to scare away the weird creatures. Magic birds? He didn't even know what to call them. The sort of bird that likes dirt. Birds stayed high to avoid predators, right? Pah, didn't matter. His magic seemed to do the trick and the creatures scattered, crowing unhappily in the process. In this way he was able to catch up to Rana. Though he wasn't entirely sure what to say. "That's... not something you see everyday." Of course he couldn't help a glance over to make sure he hadn't accidentally hit her with a spell or something. His aim had been very careful and he was quite a precise guy, so it hadn't been too much of a problem. He almost felt like laughing, stupid birds, now he was inclined to say; "Didn't get hurt, did you?" he didn't want to sound genuinely concerned, of course, nor did he. It was a stupid situation, it's not like she'd enjoy being saved by someone like him or that he particularly enjoyed having to do so. Especially from such a weird situation. "What the hell type of bird makes a nest in the ground?" He muttered, irritably, his eyes going to the path; easily finding the source of the mishap. Forbidden Forest was weird. |

Rana stomped angrily through the forest, ignoring the fact that it was supposed to be dangerous, and that she was making a lot of noise. They weren't too far in, really, but wasn't it against school rules? Then again, what was the worst that could happen? Spend another attention with Adrien? That wasn't so awful. She huffed audibly, and quickened her pace, keeping her back to him. A couple of minutes later, Rana felt her foot fall on top of something that collapsed inward under her weight. She looked down, but saw nothing, other than a handful of broken twigs. Out of the corner of her eye, Rana noticed Adrien shooting sparks, seemingly in her direction. She instinctively pulled out her own wand and turned to face him, but froze as a flock of birds attempted to gain up on her. Not of fright, but of surprise. Had she stepped on their nest? Likely, she realized. Confused, she couldn't bring herself to do anything that would stop their attack. Adrien's sparks seemed to work well enough, though. Sitting on top of a large rock, Rana muttered to herself as she watched the strange birds disappear. "Should have expected it," Rana mumbled, agreeing with Adrien. She laughed without humor, and shook her head. "What damage could they have done, anyway?" Of course, this was the Forbidden Forest. Every creature seemed to have their own methods of survival. It was hard to imagine that little birds could harm magic folk, but she reminded herself to tread carefully. She grinned uncharacteristically. Perhaps it was being alone, or the thrill of breaking the rules, but she motioned for Adrien to join her. Edited by Rana Rosanne, Oct 16 2011, 11:51:30 AM.

Yes, everyone expects to fall into a bird's nest when they walk about a forest. The birds hadn't seemed incredibly dangerous, but it as impossible to tell. "It is probably better not to find out, either way." Adrien consented, keeping all the strange bird theories out of his head. Though he did have a very odd image of a bird with lasers shooting out of his eyes; a thing he very rapidly supressed. It was a little shocking she she motioned for him to follow. He figured she might just keep walking and he would just keep following. So he joined her, quietly. His steps were quiet, even on such an unused path and he moved agily for someone not used to walking through the forest, or used to any sort of physical activity whatsoever, perhaps he was born with a natural grace. Something he'd never thought to consider before. He couldn't quite helping thinking that she looked a little less sinister when she grinned, almost good-looking, even. Who was he kidding? Here he was following her around like a lost mutt. "It's a little odd to see you grin." Adrien commented, trying to keep the usual bitter cynisism out of his voice. Though it was a bit of a stretch and he ended up smirking ironically; at himself if anything else. He could ne nice, he supposed. If he knew where to start. He didn't have to open up; expose himself as it were. Though he doubted if Rana was a good person to be friendly to, she seemed more prone to random outburts than anything else. Though they'd been spending so much time together recently it almost felt normal to be around her. And he couldn't help thinking it would be nice to see her happier. Which was a scary thought all in itself and he shoved his hands into his pockets absently. Trying to focus his thoughts elsewhere. It would be a good time to whistle, if whsitling wasn't so annoying. What did they have to converse about? Anything that came to his mind was vaguely impolite and he had set himself on being civil, in the least. His gaze remained skyward. The tops of the trees were oddly gnarled and horrid, yet the light shining through the tree created such an enticing pattern; he considered trying to recreate the odd pattern the filtered light created upon the ground. Wondering if he could do it justice. Wondering if he would eventually be able to recreate this scene in an illusion. He had never considered creating an illusion to put a person into. His version of illusion was incredibly simple. Mediocre, even. It was barely even usable as is. He wished he had a means to improve upon it. But he couldn't cast it upon himself and there was no one he would trust with the secret. His father... couldn't even count. Adrien let out an almost inaudible sigh as he closed his eyes for a few moments before turning back to study Rana, considering what to say. The Forbidden Forest didn't seem too bad. They weren't dead yet. It was oddly peaceful... so far. |
