Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Walking into the dorms, Seamus really couldn’t wait to meet his dates for this year. He looked down at the list looking at the crossed off ones, it was probably one of them he guessed and Dean must have crossed them off for him. He grabbed some clothes looking through them trying to find the right top the right jumper and of course the right trousers. He would obviously wear his scarf to keep himself warm. Pulling off his robes he began to smile pulling on a top. He hoped the girls would like it, no ashes on him with a nice hairstyle for once. This would hopefully be his day!

Turning around and looking at Dean, Seamus couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks for getting me a date Dean...” He said slowly before turning back to his trousers and pulling them up.

Dean made his way into the dormitory behind Seamus. He crossed the room and sat down on his unmade bed, right next to Seamus'.

"Thanks for getting me a date Dean."

Thanks? Thanks for lying to you? Thanks for getting your hopes up and then crushing them in an instant? Thanks for ruining your day? Dean had never been this unsettled about something before. He'd never really lied to Seamus, the only exceptions being when he told him he didn't look stupid when he'd blown something in his face. "Yeah, er, no problem," Dean said, looking down at his feet.

Perhaps... perhaps it would be smart to tell Seamus what was really going on. Maybe it would be the best thing to do to confess to him that he hadn't been able to find a girl, for him or for himself. That sounds like the rational, Gryffindor thing to do. "Seamus?" Dean said. "Seamus, I need to tell you something."

Seamus grinned as Dean said it was no problem. He was really glad to have a friend like Dean, extremely grateful to have a friend like him. Imagine what Seamus’ life would have been like if he and Dean had not sat by one another on the train into Hogwarts in his first year. He wouldn’t be as confident; he would hang around with Neville and probably be an outcast. A loser, no one would want to talk to him probably. Dean was popular and since he and Seamus were close it meant he got access to all the popular people in Gryffindor. Pulling on his shoes and then his coat Seamus grabbed his scarf and began to pull it around his neck tightly.

As he did so, he heard Dean say something. “Sure, what is it?” Seamus looked over and smiled slightly, what could his friend have to tell him? Hopefully it wasn’t that there was a patch of hair missing on the back of his head.

Dean swallowed as Seamus looked toward him, throwing his scarf around his neck. "Well, the thing is," he began, and then looked out the window. The snow was falling ever so gracefully down. Down, down, until it gently landed on the earth, piling on top of itself until there was a thin blanket covering the ground.

Imagine what it would have been like, really, not knowing Seamus. He'd probably be one of the most popular people in the school! People on the outside always saw Seamus as a bit of baggage when it came to hanging out with Dean, but he never went anywhere without the bloke. It was both of them or none of them. Especially when it came to girls. If a girl liked Dean but couldn't stand Seamus they wouldn't be able to make it work. If a girl said anything bad about Seamus Dean would break it off right away. That was how much he cared about the guy. And he had just lied to him! How much worse of a friend could you get?

"Well, erm..." Dean swallowed again. "It's so, so silly of me, and you're gonna laugh about this later, all right? Trust me, you will. It's not really a big deal, but...." Dean looked Seamus straight in the eye. He had to tell him this face-to-face, not looking away like some coward. That wasn't how a Thomas acted. "I, well, I didn't get you a date. Actually, I didn't even get myself a date. I've been so preoccupied with class and it's nearing exams and the end of term, and everything has just been so hectic. And I know you're always expecting me to come up, but I didn't this time and I'm sorry, mate.

"I just didn't want to tell you in front of everybody. I thought it was best kept between you and me."

Seamus waited, tapping his hand against his leg as he watched Dean with a wide smile. He couldn’t think what it could be, what could Dean want to tell him? Seamus noticed that his best friend didn’t look himself, didn’t look happy in the slightest. He seemed almost angry with himself, but why would he be angry? Seamus couldn’t think of a single reason to why Dean could feel like this, so maybe he was thinking into Dean’s expression too much. He’ll laugh about this later? Seamus rose an eyebrow then nodded hanging on Dean’s every word as the smile on his lips slowly disappeared as words spilled out Dean’s mouth all at once. At first Seamus began to panic only hearing that Dean had not gotten him a date.

He felt his stomach drop; he was going to spend the day alone wasn’t he? He was going to watch Dean walk around with another girl smiling his head off, he always got the girls. This wasn’t fair. But these thoughts suddenly disappeared as Dean revealed he hadn’t gotten a date for himself either. It made Seamus feel slightly better, but then Seamus felt even worse about what happened. Was he really always expecting so much of Dean? It wasn’t fair to expect his friend to do everything for him, Seamus began to chew his lip wondering to himself how much pressure he must have put on his best friend over the years of getting dates for the Yule Ball and Valentine’s Day. He felt like a terrible friend.

“It’s fine don’t worry” Seamus forced out a smile at the end of the sentence, he was yelling at himself. He had put so much pressure on his friend that Dean ended up lying to him. Of course he was upset that he didn’t have a date, but surely Dean could change that right? Suddenly Seamus began to see that he did depend on Dean a lot. Well, not anymore! Today Seamus himself would get the two of them dates. Or at least one for his friend, it was the least he could do after putting so much pressure. “I’ll get us dates!” He had to seem hopeful right? Anyway if they didn’t get dates he could spend the day with his best friend laughing about random things and stuffing themselves full with sweets.

Dean looked at Seamus. It's fine. "No, it's not fine, Seamus," he said finally. "It's not fine because I let you down and that's not what a Thomas does. It's like when you're playing football and a guy misses a pass and the other team gets it and scores. Everybody blames that one guy, right? Well I'm fine if you give me all the blame because it's my fault." He sighed. This was really the worst thing he could have done, lying to Seamus. "Look, I'm real sorry, mate. I don't want you upset or anything because, well, that'll make me feel real bad and I don't want either of us to feel bad on Valentine's Day."

"I'll get us dates!"

Oh, Wizard God. Seamus trying to get the pair of them dates? That's even more disastrous than him getting a boil-curing potion wrong! "Nah, it's fine, mate, you don't need to." In fact, in the most truthful of ways, Dean didn't want Seamus to find him a date. As well as the two knew each other, and perhaps because of that, Dean feared the kind of girl Seamus would pick.

Seamus listened to Dean taking in every word, at the end he just smiled a little and got up walking over to where his best friend was. “I shouldn’t have put the pressure on you but it doesn’t matter!” Seamus exclaimed, a smile covering his face as she shoved his hands in his pockets. “We’re best friends and you do tons for me Dean, now stop being sorry bro and let’s get us some dates!” Seamus happily said bringing his hand out his pocket and patting Dean on the back. Going over to grab his bag Seamus checked that the chocolates were still in it ready for him to give to another girl. Turning back around Seamus rolled his eyes and grinned to his friend.

“Cheer up Dean, you won’t get any girls with your face looking like a slapped arse” He said with a laugh before heading over to the door standing by the side and waiting for his friend. “And I will get us dates! Mark my words!” He yelled happily to his best friend in the whole of Hogwarts.

What Seamus was saying was actually cheering Dean up, now that he thought about it. There was a long silence after Seamus said to mark his words. Dean chuckled a bit, then looked out the window. He could still see each individual snowflake as it drifted down to the ground, floating magnificently in its own unique way. "No two snowflakes are alike, you know," Dean said quietly, breaking the silence. "They've all got different patterns, see, because of the way the water freezes. Since they all freeze at different altitudes, and the composition of the air and the temperature are all different, they all look different, the way the molecules are bonded together. I guess it's the same with people. Y'know, snowflakes are real nice and special, because they're all different. And you and me, Seamus, we're like two snowflakes that froze at two completely different altitudes. It's like, y'know, you're all... well, Seamus... and I'm Dean.

"I know that doesn't really explain anything, but I don't know how to put it. I suppose what I'm trying to say, Seamus, is," Dean paused and swallowed. "Even though we're different and people think you're weird and accident-prone, I still love you, man. You're like my brother." Why all of this was coming out right now, Dean didn't exactly know. Perhaps it was the season. Perhaps it was the fact that he had just shown the weakness of their friendship, though Seamus had dismissed that and shown an even stronger bond between the two Gryffindors.

"Anyway, enough of all this sappy codswallop," he exclaimed, jumping to his feet. "Let's go down to the Great Hall and get us a pair of dames! What d'you say?"

Seamus listened to Dean, a smile on his lips at first but that slowly turned to a confused look as Dean continued on. What was he on about? Seamus nodded his head pretending to know what the hell Dean was on about, it was probably something smart and scientific or something that was simple which Seamus just didn’t get. But he ignored that part for now, listening to the end of what his best friend was saying. A wide smile covered his lips as he nodded his head. “You’re like my brother too dude!” Seamus happily said, his feet kicking up and down as he sat on the bed acting like a child. “Hey with all that I love you man talk people could think we are in a bromance or something!” Seamus joked chuckling a little before getting up and clapping his hands together.

“Yeah! Get us some awesome girls from the great hall dude!” Seamus cheerfully said walking over to the door then turning to his best friend. He then rolled his eyes as Dean just stood there, so Seamus took it into his own hands to get them down to the great hall. Seamus grabbed Dean’s sleeve and began to pull him out the room closing the door as the two exited the dorms and headed down to the great hall to get themselves a date!
